Financial Reporting & Control - General Accounting & Reconciliations

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced finance professional with strong expertise in Financial Reporting, General Accounting, and Balance Sheet Reconciliations within the Record-to-Report (R2R) function. The role requires end-to-end understanding of insurance accounting processes , including fixed assets, intercompany accounting, accrual management, and month/quarter-end close activities. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring governance, establishing controls, driving process improvements, and managing stakeholder and client interactions while leading a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end R2R accounting operations including journal entries, accruals, fixed assets, intercompany accounting, and reconciliations.

• Lead month-end and quarter-end close processes , ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Review journal entries, settlements, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Establish and maintain process controls, governance frameworks, and quality standards for accounting operations.

• Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals , ensuring performance management and continuous development.

• Collaborate with onshore clients and cross-functional stakeholders to resolve operational issues and meet reporting timelines.

• Provide audit support by preparing working papers, documentation, and responding to auditor queries.

• Identify and drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and transformation projects .

• Handle client escalations, operational issues, and stakeholder queries effectively.

• Prepare and review management reports, dashboards, and performance analysis for leadership and clients.

Key Requirements

• 8–10 years of experience in Financial Accounting / R2R within the F&A domain.

• Strong expertise in General Ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting .

• Experience working with ERP systems such as Oracle, TM1, or BlackLine .

• Prior insurance industry experience is preferred.

• Strong knowledge of advanced Excel and MS Access for reporting and analysis.

• Proven experience in team management, stakeholder coordination, and escalation handling .

• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and client management skills .
