About the role

We are looking for a GL Accounting / Record-to-Report (R2R) professional responsible for managing general ledger activities, month-end closing, account reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, and variance analysis. The candidate should have strong accounting fundamentals and experience working with ERP systems such as SAP/Oracle .

Key Responsibilities

Perform day-to-day General Ledger accounting and R2R activities .
Prepare, review, and post journal entries , including accruals, provisions, prepayments, reclassifications, and adjustments.
Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities within defined timelines.
Perform Balance Sheet and P&L account reconciliations and investigate variances.
Conduct intercompany accounting and reconciliation , including resolving mismatches.
Perform bank and other account reconciliations and ensure timely clearance of open items.
Prepare and analyze trial balance, balance sheet, and P&L schedules .
Perform variance/flux analysis and provide explanations for significant movements.
Support financial reporting and management reporting activities.
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting policies, internal controls, and SOX requirements .
Support internal and external audit requirements by providing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of GL transactions and maintain proper documentation.
Identify process gaps and support process improvement and automation initiatives.
Coordinate with AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Treasury, Tax, and other finance teams for month-end closure.

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of General Ledger Accounting and R2R processes .
Good understanding of US GAAP / IFRS / local GAAP as applicable.
Strong knowledge of journal entries, accruals, provisions, prepaids, reconciliations, and financial close .
Experience in Balance Sheet reconciliation and P&L analysis .
Knowledge of Intercompany Accounting and Reconciliation .
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Advanced MS Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
Experience with SAP FI/CO, Oracle Financials, BlackLine, HFM/Hyperion or similar ERP/accounting systems will be an advantage
