# Job Description – Mechanical Inspector

## Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced **Mechanical Inspector** to oversee and ensure the quality of mechanical, fabrication, welding, and installation activities in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable codes, and quality standards. The candidate will be responsible for conducting inspections, reviewing documentation, identifying non-conformities, and ensuring compliance with project quality requirements.

## Key Responsibilities

* Conduct inspection of mechanical equipment, fabrication, piping, structural and welding activities as per approved drawings and specifications.
* Monitor fabrication, erection, installation, and welding activities to ensure compliance with project requirements.
* Perform visual inspection of welds and coordinate with NDT personnel for required testing.
* Verify welding procedures, WPS/PQR, welder qualifications, and applicable inspection requirements.
* Review material certificates, inspection reports, drawings, specifications, and quality documentation.
* Conduct incoming material inspections and verify materials against approved specifications.
* Identify, document, and follow up on non-conformities and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
* Prepare and maintain inspection reports, checklists, ITP records, and other QA/QC documentation.
* Coordinate with QA/QC Engineers, construction teams, subcontractors, and client representatives during inspections.
* Ensure inspection activities are carried out in accordance with applicable international standards and project specifications.
* Participate in client inspections, hold-point/witness-point inspections, and final acceptance activities.
* Monitor the quality of mechanical installation and ensure proper completion of punch-list items.
* Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards such as **ASME, AWS, API, ASTM, and project-specific specifications**, where applicable.
* Support the QA/QC team in maintaining project quality records and ensuring timely closure of inspection-related issues.

## Required Qualifications

* B.Tech / Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in **Mechanical Engineering**.
* Minimum **6–10 years of relevant experience** in Mechanical Inspection / QA-QC.
* Valid **CSWIP 3.1, AWS**, or equivalent welding/mechanical inspection certification.
* Strong knowledge of mechanical inspection, welding inspection, fabrication, and installation activities.
* Good understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, ITPs, and inspection procedures.
* Knowledge of relevant international codes and standards.
* Experience working on large-scale construction, industrial, oil & gas, petrochemical, or infrastructure projects will be preferred.
* Good communication and coordination skills.
* Ability to work in a project/site environment in Saudi Arabia.
