Civil Structural Design Lead
Job Summary:
The Civil Structural Design Lead will play a crucial role in guiding the
engineering design processes for projects in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical,
and Metal & Mining sectors. With a focus on delivering innovative and
efficient structural solutions, the ideal candidate will contribute to the
successful execution of complex projects while ensuring compliance with
industry standards and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage civil and structural design projects, ensuring timely
delivery and adherence to quality standards.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to devise and implement engineering
solutions that meet client specifications.

Conduct structural analysis and simulations using industry-standard software
to validate design integrity.

Review and approve design calculations, drawings, and specifications
prepared by team members.

Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices in structural
design and project execution.

Interface with clients and stakeholders to address project requirements,
timelines, and budget considerations.

Ensure compliance with local, national, and international codes and
standards, promoting a culture of safety within the team.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

A minimum of 15 years of experience in civil/structural design within the
Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and Metal & Mining industries.

Proficiency in structural design software such as SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, or
similar.

Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of structural mechanics
and material behavior.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate
with team members and clients.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced
environment.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with design and execution of large-scale projects in challenging
environments.

Familiarity with advanced modeling techniques, including finite element
analysis (FEA).

Strong understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability
practices in design.

Previous experience in leading a design team and managing project budgets.

Membership in relevant professional organizations (e.g., ASCE, AISC) is an
advantage.
