Regional Legal Manager - Home Loan and LAP
Job Summary:
The Regional Legal Manager for Home Loan and LAP will play a vital role in ensuring compliance and providing legal guidance within our home loan and loan against property divisions. This position focuses on developing robust legal strategies that foster growth while mitigating risks, thereby supporting the organization's objectives and enhancing customer trust.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate various legal agreements related to home loans and LAP products, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Provide legal advice and support to internal stakeholders on regulatory compliance issues, mitigating potential risks.
- Collaborate with the underwriting and credit teams to analyze legal aspects of loan applications and ensure due diligence.
- Conduct legal research and prepare reports on emerging trends and regulations affecting the home loan and LAP sectors.
- Develop and deliver training sessions for staff on legal processes, compliance requirements, and best practices in the industry.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel when necessary to address complex legal issues and consult on strategic initiatives.
- Monitor legislative changes relevant to home loans and LAP to ensure organizational compliance and proactive adjustments to policies.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal qualification with a focus on real estate or banking law.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a legal role, preferably within the financial services or banking sector.
- Strong understanding of home loan and loan against property products and related legal frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
