Intermediate Linear Conveyance Design Engineer
Role Overview
The Intermediate Linear Conveyance Design Engineer will support the Linear
Conveyance Design Lead in the delivery of water and wastewater conveyance
projects across global regions. This role focuses on technical production,
coordination, and quality support for linear infrastructure designs, working
closely with global response teams and regional project offices in Canada,
Australia, the United States, and India.
The successful candidate will contribute to detailed design development,
preparation of technical deliverables, and interdisciplinary coordination,
while gaining exposure to complex conveyance systems and cross-regional
delivery models.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Development

Prepare and develop detailed design drawings, calculations, and technical
documentation for water and wastewater conveyance systems under the guidance
of the Design Lead.

Support the design of:

Watermains
and
sanitary/trunk sewers
-
Maintenance holes, valve chambers,
and
diversion chambers
-
Pressurized
and
gravity conveyance systems
-
Assist in route alignment studies, corridor planning, and constructability
reviews.

Perform hydraulic calculations and modeling tasks for assigned project
components.

Contribute to design packages from preliminary through detailed design
stages.
Project Delivery and Technical Oversight
-
Support project delivery by meeting assigned schedules, budgets, and quality
requirements.

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, structural, geotechnical,
electrical, and construction) to integrate design inputs.

Work closely with global response production teams to ensure clarity of
scope, intent, and design standards.

Participate in internal design reviews and respond to comments under the
direction of the Design Lead.

Assist with preparation of technical reports, specifications, and contract
documents.
Quality, Standards & Continuous Improvement

Apply municipal standards, client requirements, and internal quality
procedures to design deliverables.

Assist in identifying design risks, constructability challenges, and
optimization opportunities.

Support continuous improvement initiatives related to digital delivery,
modeling tools, and standardization of conveyance design deliverables.

Ensure compliance with safety-in-design principles and corporate health &
safety expectations.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related discipline.
-
5–8 years of experience in water and wastewater linear conveyance design.
-
Experience working on municipal infrastructure projects is preferred.

- Revit and Civil 3D workflows (asset)

Familiarity with pipeline materials such as concrete, PVC, HDPE, and steel
is an asset.
