Title: Network Engineer – Carrier Global Network
Current Need
We are seeking a seasoned Network Engineer to join our Global IT Networking team. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive expertise in the planning, design, deployment, and troubleshooting of complex networked systems.
Position Description
The successful candidate will be accountable for maintaining essential network services on a daily basis and collaborating effectively with third-party teams and managed service providers to ensure uninterrupted network operations. Responsibilities include coordinating with the network engineering team to oversee the implementation of network designs and changes, as well as managing a repository of physical and logical network documentation. A proactive approach to identifying and mitigating network issues and risks—including capacity management and early issue detection—is expected.
Minimum Requirements
· At least 10+ years of experience supporting, managing, and implementing corporate internal data communications systems, encompassing telecommunications infrastructure, security layers, LANs, and WANs.
Critical Skills
· Minimum of 8-10 years supporting network devices within a 24x7 datacenter or global enterprise environment, including expertise in routing, switching, and network security.
· Cloud Networking: At least 5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud networking platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI.
· SD-WAN: Minimum of 5+ years working with SD-WAN technologies, including Cisco Viptela or equivalent solutions.
· Data Center Switching: At least 5 years of experience with data center switch environments, preferably with Cisco and/or Arista series.
· Branch Networking: A minimum of 5+ years managing branch networking infrastructures, emphasizing wireless office setups and Meraki-based solutions.
· Wireless: Extensive experience (minimum 5 years) with enterprise wireless networks across varied settings, such as offices, manufacturing, and distribution centers.
· Demonstrated excellence in communication and a proven track record of providing service delivery to both internal and external clients.
· Equipment / Cloud Environment: Broad experience troubleshooting diverse environments and technologies, including but not limited to:
· Cloud: AWS, Azure, OCI, GCP
· Routers: Cisco ASR, 4k, 1100 Series
· Cisco Access Switches: Catalyst 9000, legacy 2900
· Meraki Access & Security Devices: MS390, MX250, Z3, MR56
· Firewall Platforms: Palo Alto, Fortinet
· Zscaler
Additional Knowledge & Skills
· Strong project management capabilities demonstrated through the successful execution of network implementations, adherence to deadlines, and budget compliance; End users support / Key stakeholders.
· WAN Physical Connectivity: Experience provisioning, configuring, and troubleshooting edge router WAN circuits (Ethernet).
· Routing Protocols: Proficient with all common routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) in modern network environments.
· At least four years of experience using debug/trace commands and understanding their effects on production environments.
· Monitoring: Advanced knowledge of SNMP, Netflow, Syslog, and packet capture techniques.
· Relevant professional certifications preferred, such as CCNP, CCDP, or CCIE RS.
· Internet Hosting: Expertise in BGP design and implementation for internet hosting, including redundant ISP configurations, BGP load balancing, CIDR advertisements, and prefix filtering with regular expressions.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Certifications/Licensure
Certifications such as CCNP, CCDP, or CCIE RS are highly desirable.
