Job Description – Record to Report (R2R) Accountant

About the Role:
EXL is looking for a detail-oriented R2R Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team in Noida. The ideal candidate will manage end-to-end Record to Report processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in line with client and company standards, while working in a US shift to support international operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Prepare and analyze financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet)
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP / IFRS and internal controls
• Coordinate with internal teams and clients for reporting requirements
• Support internal and external audits with required documentation
• Identify process improvement opportunities within the R2R cycle
• Maintain accuracy in general ledger accounting and reporting

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Education: B.Com (Bachelor of Commerce) — mandatory
• 1–4 years of experience in R2R / General Ledger / Financial Accounting (freshers with strong fundamentals may also be considered)
• Good understanding of accounting principles and month-end close processes
• Proficiency in MS Excel; exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills (verbal & written) — mandatory for US client interaction
• Willingness to work in US shift timings
