Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Transmission Design Engineer with a Civil Engineering background to support the design and engineering of transmission line projects. The candidate will be responsible for structural design, foundation design, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design of transmission line structures including towers, poles, and foundations.
- Perform structural analysis and design calculations for transmission line components.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
- Conduct geotechnical assessment and foundation design for different soil conditions.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant codes and standards (IS, IEC, IEEE, etc.).
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including electrical, procurement, and project execution teams.
- Review vendor drawings and provide technical approvals.
- Support site teams with design clarifications and technical guidance.
- Optimize designs for cost efficiency and constructability.
- Participate in project planning, scheduling, and progress tracking.
Required Qualifications:
- B.Tech/B.E. in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
- 6+ years of experience in transmission line design.
- Strong knowledge of structural design and analysis.
- Experience in foundation design for transmission towers.
- Familiarity with design codes and standards (IS codes preferred).
- Proficiency in software such as STAAD Pro, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in EHV/UHV transmission line projects.
- Knowledge of PLS-TOWER / PLS-CADD is an added advantage.
- Understanding of geotechnical investigation reports.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
