Key Responsibilities

 The Estimation Head is responsible for leading team of estimation engineers to develop estimations for steel processing lines (cold roll mill, continuous galvanizing line, continuous color coating line etc.).
 Reviewing the technical documents and scope of supplies for processing lines and developing estimations considering the changes to reference line, specifications and other factors.
 Ensuring high level of estimation accuracy without errors and rock bottom pricing.
 Working closely with suppliers to receive competitive quotes and negotiating for best offer during estimation stage.
 Highlighting factors leading to higher estimation based on Pareto analysis and suggesting opportunities for reduction.
 Focusing on new vendor developments without compromising on reliability to improve competitiveness.
 100% implementation of return of experiences in estimation process to ensure no repetition of errors.
 Work closely with proposal and sales team to ensure error-free and rock-bottom pricing to improve win probability.
 Work with multi entities to freeze scope of supplies and ensure correct consolidated estimation.
 Lead the team of estimation engineers and drive continuous improvement.

Education & Experience

The ideal candidate for the Estimation Head position should have the following skills:

Minimum 20 years of experience in cost estimation with minimum 10 years in estimation of cold rolled steel processing lines. Having worked on estimation for reputed customers in steel processing and below processing lines:

o automotive and construction grade continuous annealing and galvanizing lines
o cold rolling mills
o pickling lines, and acid regeneration plants
o Electrical steel – Annealing pickling and Annealing coating line

Minimum Qualification: BE (Mechanical/Production)

Proven experience in developing estimation, in other words:

o Review of complete technical specifications and scope of supply
o Ability to understand engineering drawings.
o Process related knowledge of processing lines.
o Working with external vendors to share RFQ and getting optimized quotes
o Factoring all the parameters in the cost sheet to derive estimation
o Working out the sourcing strategy to achieve rock bottom pricing

Background, Skills, and Competencies

- Good in communication (English – Oral and Written)
- Ability to defend one’s point of view from estimation consideration standpoint.
- Knowledge of IT tools Microsoft 365 (Teams, Tasks, Planner, Project on-line), Autodesk (AutoCAD, Inventor,Vault), Power BI & Excel pivot tables.
- Good knowledge of SAP material master and cost allocation
