Directs: QA QC Team, Engineering Team, Disciplines, Client and Contractor

Purpose of role

Head of overall Projects QA-QC Department. Have Knowledge of Project Quality Management, Engineering Quality, Procurement, Construction of Oil & Gas, Petrochemical & Fertilizer Projects.

Establish Standard Operating Procedure for Department, Review Project quality reports. Prepare Project Quality Statistics for management review.

Key Responsibilities

Management

Acts as Head QA-QC .

Quality

Guide Project QA-QC team, support Director/ Manager for discipline and inter-discipline check of documents.
Ensures that the required integrity and quality of the work is maintained.
Familiar with International Quality management system and their procedures.
Ensures timely corrective actions for identified non-conformities.

Project

Coordinates with all project managers and departments for establishing the procedures and resolves all Quality issues.
Provides inputs during all design phases including interpretation of standards.
Actively communicates with other departments to optimize areas of interface during design development, review and check processes.
Discusses with support engineers and designers regularly on Quality.
Organizes and participates in Technical and progress reviews of projects.
Familiar with organization procedures and international standards and codes.
Following master schedules for all projects including resource schedules, execution methodologies, SOPS, milestones.

Business Development

Visits clients, Vendor Shops, attends seminars/workshops and makes technical presentations.

Proposals

Reviews scope of work and seeks clarification for ambiguous/incomplete/incorrect information.
Monitors and provides quality input while preparation of tender drawings/specifications & finalization of requirements & estimates.

Planning & Scheduling

Assists Project Management team in Quality Planning & scheduling of Projects.
Provides input to project Quality Team.

Contracting & Procurement

Identifying project specific Quality Philosophy/ Standard for engineering, procurement and Construction.
Evaluating contracting works, handling negotiation, award & review of contracts as per contract regimes.

Technical Review of designs and documents

Thoroughly guides the Engineering, PMT team and reviews all documents, analysis & design files in quality perspective.

Graduation in Mechanical Engineering

Professional experience (yrs.)

25 -28 Years of experience in Refinery, Petrochemical, Fertilizer and Industrial Projects

Key Competencies – Functional

Must have:

Thoroughly conversant with analysis, design and construction of refinery and industrial Civil, structures covering steel as well Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation Quality related to industries like hydro-carbon, refineries & petrochemicals etc.
Conversant with Indian as well as international Quality Codes and standards viz. IS, BS/EUROCODE, ASCE and ACI. Should be able to develop material specifications independently.
Must have experience & proficiency in Quality Management of multimillion EPC projects.
Should have knowledge/exposure towards construction activities in Project.
Should have hands-on experience in Engineering Quality, Process and Construction Project.
Capability to lead complete Project Quality Management Team for overall Projects.
Highly skilled with thorough Engineering, Construction, newer methodologies, planning, inculcating systems, maintaining quality control and quality.
Motivating, mentoring and leading a talented pool of professionals. Lead by example.
Knowledge of other international codes and exposure to FEM and ANSYS software.
