Reporting To: Vice President – Head Liability & Specialty UW 

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic professional for the role of Product Lead – Liability Lines Underwriting . The candidate will be responsible for developing and managing the Liability Insurance portfolio on a PAN India basis, driving profitable underwriting, product development, and portfolio management while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and nurture the Liability Lines business across PAN India.
• Handle underwriting transactions and quotations to ensure profitable business growth.
• Develop insurance products and support regulatory filings with IRDAI.
• Prepare and update underwriting guidelines, manuals, and processes.
• Coordinate with brokers, clients, and intermediaries for business development and servicing.
• Work closely with IT, operations, and claims teams for business requirements and process enhancement.
• Conduct portfolio review and ensure effective portfolio management.
• Drive innovation and process improvement initiatives within the underwriting function.
• Train and mentor junior underwriters, operations staff, and field teams on underwriting processes and guidelines.
• Represent the organization in meetings with clients, brokers, and business partners.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Minimum 3–7 years of experience in General Insurance underwriting.
• Preferably experienced in Liability / Property Lines of Business .
• Candidates from General Insurance companies or Insurance Brokers will be preferred.
• Strong understanding of underwriting principles, risk assessment, and insurance products.
• Experience in product development and regulatory filing processes.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and handle PAN India operations.
