Job Summary

L&T is looking for an experienced Project Engineering Manager (PEM) – Electrical to lead and manage engineering activities for GIS/AIS substation projects . The role will be responsible for end-to-end engineering coordination, design review, technical deliverables, client/vendor coordination, and ensuring projects are delivered within the required quality, cost, and schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage complete engineering activities for high-voltage GIS/AIS substation projects.
• Review and approve Primary & Secondary Design , protection, SCADA, earthing, cabling and related engineering deliverables.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, vendors, procurement, construction and commissioning teams.
• Review engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, BOQ and technical documents.
• Ensure timely submission and approval of engineering deliverables as per project schedule.
• Manage technical queries, design changes, vendor clarifications and engineering issues.
• Support vendor evaluation, technical bid evaluation and procurement activities.
• Provide technical support to site execution and resolve design-related issues.
• Lead and mentor engineering/design teams and ensure effective resource allocation.
• Conduct engineering review meetings and monitor project progress, quality and deliverables.

Requirements:

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering .
• 15+ years of experience in Substation Design & Engineering Management .
• Strong experience in GIS/AIS Substations , preferably up to 765 kV .
• Experience in managing multiple substation projects and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of Primary & Secondary Engineering, Protection, SCADA, Earthing and Cabling.
• Good knowledge of relevant IEC/IEEE standards and client specifications.
• Experience in client, consultant, vendor and site coordination.
• Knowledge of ETAP, PSCAD, CYMGRD/CDEGS and MS Office will be an advantage.
