Job Summary:

The Test Lead Engineer will spearhead the ETL testing efforts, ensuring data integrity and optimal performance within our data warehouse environments. With a focus on utilizing Azure Data Bricks and strong SQL skills, this pivotal role will impact our data quality initiatives, providing critical insights for informed decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate ETL testing activities across multiple projects, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
• Design and implement comprehensive test strategies and plans to validate data transformations and loading processes.
• Collaborate with data engineers and stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure effective testing coverage.
• Execute SQL queries to validate the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of data in the data warehouse.
• Identify and document defects found during testing, and track them through resolution to ensure quality outcomes.
• Conduct training and mentorship of junior testers on ETL testing methodologies and tools, fostering a culture of quality.
• Participate in sprint planning and retrospectives, offering insights on testing strategies and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 7-10 years of experience in ETL testing, with a strong focus on data warehouse environments.
• Proficiency in SQL, including complex queries, joins, and data manipulation.
• Experience working with Azure Data Bricks or similar cloud-based data processing platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in Agile methodologies and tools, contributing to agile sprint processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications in ETL tools or data-related technologies (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate).
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and scripting (e.g., Python, Java).
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for data validation purposes.
