Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced
Senior Mechanical – Quality Control professional
with 10+ years of experience in mechanical fabrication, welding inspection,
and quality assurance/control activities. The candidate will be responsible
for ensuring that fabrication, welding, assembly, and mechanical
construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications,
applicable codes, and project quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise and monitor
mechanical QC activities
for fabrication, welding, erection, and installation works.
-
Inspect welding activities and ensure compliance with approved
WPS, PQR, ITP, drawings, and project specifications
.
-
Perform and review
welding inspection
, including fit-up, visual inspection, welding parameters, and final weld
inspection.
-
Ensure compliance with applicable
ASME, AWS, API, ASTM and project-specific standards/codes
.
-
Review material certificates, inspection reports, welding consumable
certificates, and other quality documentation.
-
Monitor
WPS/PQR and welder qualification
requirements and maintain relevant records.
-
Coordinate with
NDT personnel
for RT, UT, MT, PT and other required inspections.
-
Identify and document
NCRs, deviations, defects, and non-conformities
and ensure timely corrective actions.
-
Conduct inspections of mechanical components, pressure equipment, piping,
structural/fabricated components, and related equipment as applicable.

Prepare and maintain
Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), checklists, inspection reports, and
quality records
.

Coordinate with clients, consultants, third-party inspectors, and
project/site teams during inspections.

Conduct stage-wise inspections and ensure
hold/witness points
are completed as per approved ITP.

Monitor repair and rework activities and verify corrective actions.
-
Ensure proper traceability of materials, welding consumables, weld joints,
and inspection records.

Participate in
quality audits
and support implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
-
Provide technical guidance to QC inspectors and fabrication/site teams.
-
Ensure all quality documentation is completed and submitted as per project
requirements.
Required Skills

Strong knowledge of
Mechanical Quality Control and Welding Inspection
.

Good knowledge of
Welding Processes, WPS, PQR and Welder Qualification
.

Knowledge of
ASME / AWS / API / ASTM standards
.

Experience in
fabrication, welding, mechanical construction and inspection
.
-
Knowledge of
NDT methods – RT, UT, MT, PT
.
-
Ability to interpret
engineering drawings, fabrication drawings and specifications
.

Strong knowledge of
ITP, QAP, NCR, inspection reports and quality documentation
.

Good coordination and communication skills.

Ability to work independently at project/site locations.
Qualification & Certification

B.Tech / B.E. / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

CSWIP 3.2 / AWS Welding Inspector certification mandatory/preferred

Minimum
10+ years of relevant Quality Control experience

Candidates with experience in
heavy fabrication, oil & gas, EPC, pressure vessels, piping,
structural fabrication, or mechanical construction
will be preferred.
