Job Description – Manual QA Engineer

Location: Bangalore / Chennai (Hybrid)
Experience: 4–7 Years

Role Overview

We are looking for a Manual-testing-first QA Engineer with strong hands-on experience in web application and API testing , along with practical exposure to Playwright automation using TypeScript/Node.js . The role involves working closely with developers and product owners in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end manual testing of web applications , including test case design, execution, regression and defect management.
• Conduct API testing using Postman/REST APIs, validating JSON payloads, response codes and data.
• Develop and execute basic Playwright automation scripts using TypeScript and Node.js .
• Perform functional, integration, regression and exploratory testing.
• Identify, document and track defects using JIRA .
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate directly with developers, product owners and other stakeholders.
• Follow STLC processes and contribute to overall product quality.

Must-Have Skills

• 4–7 years of hands-on QA/testing experience.
• Strong manual testing experience for web applications .
• Hands-on API testing using Postman/REST.
• Hands-on Playwright automation with TypeScript and Node.js .
• Good JavaScript/TypeScript knowledge.
• Strong understanding of STLC, Agile/Scrum and defect management .
• Experience with JIRA .

Good to Have

• SQL knowledge.
• Git and CI/CD exposure — Jenkins, Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Selenium, Cypress or Rest Assured experience.
• BFSI / Payments domain experience.

Candidate Screening Criteria

• Manual testing must be strong and hands-on , particularly web application and API testing.
• Playwright + TypeScript must be practical hands-on experience , not just framework awareness.
• API testing experience must be hands-on.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
