About the role

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Designer responsible for preparing and developing detailed electrical engineering drawings and design deliverables for EPC and industrial projects. The candidate should have strong hands-on experience in AutoCAD 2D and preferably exposure to SP3D / AVEVA E3D / MicroStation / Revit or other electrical design tools.

The role requires coordination with Electrical Engineers and other disciplines to ensure accurate, constructible and specification-compliant design deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and develop detailed electrical drawings using AutoCAD 2D and relevant design software.
Prepare and update Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) , electrical layouts and detailed engineering drawings.
Develop:
- Power distribution layouts
- Lighting layouts
- Earthing / grounding layouts
- Lightning protection layouts
- Cable tray and cable routing layouts
- Electrical equipment layouts
- Electrical room layouts
- Hazardous area layouts
- Cable block diagrams
- Interconnection diagrams
- Installation and construction details
Prepare drawings based on engineering calculations, specifications and engineer mark-ups.
Develop layouts for electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, MCCs, panels, UPS, batteries and distribution boards .
Coordinate electrical designs with Process, Piping, Mechanical, Civil/Structural and Instrumentation disciplines.
Incorporate client/consultant comments and maintain drawing revisions.
Participate in interdisciplinary design reviews and model reviews.
Maintain drawing registers, design documentation and revision control.
Support preparation of MTO/BOQ, cable schedules and other engineering deliverables .
Provide technical support to construction and commissioning teams.
Prepare and update as-built drawings based on site changes and project requirements.
Ensure all drawings comply with applicable project standards, client specifications and relevant IEC / IEEE / NEC / NFPA / IS requirements.

Required Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of electrical drafting and design practices.
Good understanding of LV/MV electrical systems .
Knowledge of power distribution, lighting, earthing and lightning protection systems.
Understanding of cable tray routing and cable management.
Knowledge of hazardous area electrical layouts is preferred.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD 2D .
Exposure to SP3D / AVEVA E3D / MicroStation / Revit is an advantage.
Ability to read and interpret electrical specifications, SLDs, layouts and engineering documents.
Good knowledge of engineering drawing standards and document control.

Qualification

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Relevant experience in EPC / Oil & Gas / Petrochemical / Refinery / LNG / Power / Industrial projects preferred.
