Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
with a minimum of
4–6 years
of relevant inspection experience

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

8–10 years
of relevant inspection experience

Proven experience in
Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Power or Process Plant projects
Mandatory Certifications
-
CSWIP 3.1 / CSWIP 3.2 (Welding Inspector)
OR
AWS CWI
(mandatory)
-
ASNT Level II
in one or more NDT methods (
RT, UT, MT, PT, VT
) – preferred
-
Additional certifications such as
API 570
will be an added advantage
Codes, Standards & Technical Knowledge
-
Thorough working knowledge of international codes and standards, including:
- ASME Section V, VIII & IX
- ASME B31.1 / B31.3 / B31.4 / B31.8
- API 1104
- AWS D1.1

Familiarity with client specifications such as
Saudi Aramco SAES, SAMSS & SAEP
is preferred
Scope of Inspection
-
Welding inspection for
carbon steel, stainless steel, low-temperature carbon steel, alloy steel
and clad materials
-
Inspection of
shop & field fabrication, erection and installation of piping,
pipelines and related components
-
Verification of
fit-up, joint configuration, alignment and weld preparation
-
Surveillance of welding activities to ensure compliance with
approved WPS, PQR and WQT
Key Responsibilities
-
Review and verify
Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records
(PQR) and Welder Qualification Tests (WQT)
-
Perform
visual inspection
of welds and piping systems at all stages of fabrication and installation
-
Witness and monitor
NDT activities
, including RT, UT, MT, PT and RTFI interpretation
-
Witness and verify
PWHT, hydrostatic and pneumatic testing
of piping systems
-
Inspect incoming materials and verify
Material Test Certificates (MTCs)
for compliance
-
Ensure welding consumables handling, storage, baking and control as per
specifications
-
Raise and close
Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
and ensure implementation of corrective actions
-
Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, QA/QC teams and client
representatives
-
Prepare and review
inspection reports, punch lists, test packages and final quality
documentation
NDT Knowledge
-
Adequate knowledge of
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
methods, including:
- Radiographic Testing (RT)
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
- Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
- Penetrant Testing (PT)
- Visual Testing (VT)
- Radiographic Film Interpretation (RTFI)
