Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the organization’s financial strategy, planning, reporting, governance, and overall financial management. The CFO will work closely with the CEO, MD, and senior leadership team to drive business growth, improve profitability, strengthen financial controls, and ensure long-term financial sustainability.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in financial planning & analysis, accounting, taxation, treasury, budgeting, MIS, cash-flow management, risk management, compliance, and corporate finance , along with strong leadership and business partnering capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Strategy & Leadership

• Develop and execute the company’s overall financial strategy in alignment with business objectives.
• Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the MD/CEO and Board.
• Lead the finance function and establish robust financial processes, controls, and governance.
• Support business expansion, investment decisions, and strategic initiatives from a financial perspective.

2. Financial Planning & Analysis

• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, business planning, and long-term financial planning.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets, forecasts, and business targets.
• Analyze revenue, profitability, costs, margins, working capital, and key financial KPIs.
• Provide actionable insights to improve operational efficiency and profitability.

3. Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Oversee accounting operations, month-end/year-end closing, and preparation of financial statements.
• Ensure accurate and timely P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, MIS, and management reporting .
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and statutory requirements.
• Strengthen financial reporting systems and internal controls.

4. Cash Flow & Treasury Management

• Manage cash flow, liquidity, working capital, banking relationships, and treasury operations.
• Optimize receivables, payables, inventory, and overall working capital.
• Develop cash-flow forecasts and ensure adequate liquidity for business operations.
• Manage relationships with banks, financial institutions, investors, and other financial stakeholders.

5. Taxation, Compliance & Risk Management

• Oversee direct and indirect taxation, statutory compliance, audits, and regulatory matters.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Income Tax, GST, Companies Act, and other statutory requirements .
• Identify financial and operational risks and establish appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Ensure effective internal controls and corporate governance practices.

6. Audit & Internal Controls

• Coordinate with internal, statutory, tax, and other external auditors.
• Ensure timely completion of audits and closure of audit observations.
• Develop and maintain strong financial controls, policies, and procedures.
• Monitor compliance with internal financial policies and delegated authorities.

7. Business Partnering & Decision Support

• Partner with business heads to evaluate financial performance and commercial decisions.
• Provide financial analysis for new projects, investments, acquisitions, expansion, and major contracts.
• Evaluate business cases, ROI, cost structures, and investment opportunities.
• Act as a strategic business partner to the leadership team.

8. Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.
• Establish clear performance objectives and promote a culture of accountability.
• Build a high-performing finance function with strong process orientation and analytical capabilities.

Education & Experience

• CA / MBA Finance / CMA / equivalent qualification preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with significant experience in a senior finance leadership role.
• Proven experience managing the complete finance function of an organization.
• Strong experience in financial planning, reporting, taxation, treasury, compliance, and business finance.
• Experience in working with senior management, promoters, CEOs/MDs, and Boards.
• Strong ERP/MIS and advanced MS Excel skills; experience with SAP/Oracle/Dynamics or other ERP systems preferred.
