Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and technically strong GSE Master Technician to manage maintenance and operational readiness of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and Ground Support Vehicles (GSV) at Jammu Airport. The candidate will be responsible for preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, technician supervision, inventory coordination, compliance activities, and ensuring maximum equipment availability for airport operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure 99% serviceability and operational readiness of all GSE/GSV equipment.
- Carry out preventive maintenance (PMS) as per defined schedules and SOPs.
- Perform breakdown maintenance and troubleshooting activities within defined timelines.
- Plan and monitor lubricants, filters, consumables, and maintenance requirements for PMS activities.
- Coordinate with stores and regional office for spare parts required for grounded equipment.
- Conduct inspection and test drive of GSE after servicing/repairs and update the user department.
- Ensure completion of renewal, fitness, statutory, and compliance activities related to GSE/GSV.
- Monitor monthly maintenance budget (R&M) and support cost control initiatives.
- Ensure proper implementation and utilization of GEMS fuel, maintenance, and inventory modules.
- Supervise and guide technicians for quality and timely maintenance activities.
- Allocate maintenance tasks effectively and monitor technician productivity.
- Ensure proper handover/takeover between shifts and maintain operational continuity.
- Maintain tools, welding/fabrication equipment, and workshop machinery in good condition.
- Ensure all maintenance records, logs, checklists, and GEMS updates are completed daily.
- Conduct periodic safety and operational inspections of equipment.
- Prepare technician monthly rosters and validate attendance regularization, overtime, and leave requests.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, maintenance standards, grooming standards, and safety procedures.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Experience in maintenance of GSE, heavy vehicles, diesel equipment, or fleet maintenance.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems, engines, fabrication, and welding activities.
- Ability to supervise technicians and manage workshop operations.
- Familiarity with maintenance software/ERP systems such as GEMS/SAP.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of safety standards and compliance procedures.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
