Position: Design Engineer – Transmission Line

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer – Transmission Line with strong experience in the design and engineering of overhead transmission line projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing transmission line designs, conducting engineering calculations, ensuring compliance with international standards, and supporting project execution from conceptual design through construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed engineering and design of overhead transmission lines for various voltage levels.
• Prepare route alignment studies, profile drawings, tower spotting, and sag-tension calculations.
• Design and review transmission line structures, foundations, and associated civil works.
• Conduct line clearances, conductor selection, insulator string design, and earthing/shield wire calculations.
• Prepare design reports, technical specifications, material requisitions, BOQs, and engineering deliverables.
• Review vendor drawings, technical submittals, and manufacturing documents for compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, geotechnical, survey, and project execution teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Ensure compliance with client specifications, utility requirements, and international standards such as IEC, IEEE, ASCE, and relevant local codes.
• Support tendering activities by providing technical inputs, cost estimates, and design optimization solutions.
• Provide engineering support during construction, testing, commissioning, and project closeout stages.
• Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and risk assessments.
