🔎 About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Delivery – Databricks Engineering professional with 12+ years of experience to lead large-scale data engineering initiatives in the Banking domain .

The ideal candidate should bring strong hands-on expertise in Databricks and modern data engineering , combined with proven experience in delivery management, stakeholder management, team leadership, and client-facing engagements .

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale Databricks & Data Engineering programs.
Manage and mentor a data engineering team of 10+ members .
Own project delivery, timelines, quality, risks, and operational governance.
Design and drive scalable data platforms using Databricks, Spark, PySpark, SQL, Delta Lake , etc.
Work closely with banking clients and senior stakeholders to understand requirements and drive delivery.
Act as a key point of contact for client management and escalations .
Provide technical direction and architectural guidance to engineering teams.
Drive engineering best practices, performance optimization, data quality, and governance.
Collaborate with architecture, product, business, and technology teams to deliver strategic data solutions.
Build high-performing teams through mentoring, performance management, and technical coaching.

💻 Required Technical Skills

12+ years of overall IT/Data Engineering experience
Strong hands-on experience with Databricks
Excellent knowledge of PySpark / Spark
Strong SQL expertise
Experience with Delta Lake / Lakehouse architecture
Strong understanding of modern Data Engineering architecture
Experience working with Cloud data platforms such as Azure or AWS
Experience in data pipelines, ETL/ELT, data platforms, and data governance

🏦 Domain Requirement — Mandatory

Strong Banking / BFSI domain experience is mandatory.
Candidates should have worked on large-scale banking data platforms, transformation, analytics, risk, customer, transactions, or related banking technology initiatives.

👥 Leadership & Delivery Experience

Proven experience managing 10+ member engineering teams
Strong delivery ownership and project management experience
Excellent client/stakeholder management skills
Experience handling senior stakeholders and escalations
Strong communication and presentation skills
Ability to balance technical leadership + delivery management
