Senior Executive/AM - Purchase/Procurement Specialist

Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated Procurement / Purchase Specialist with strong experience in the Consumer Durables industry. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in strategic procurement, supplier management, commercial negotiations, purchase planning, and cost optimization. The role requires an individual who can thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, take ownership, and drive procurement excellence across multiple product categories.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end procurement activities for mechanical, electrical, plastic, sheet metal, and finished goods/components used in Consumer Durables.
Source, evaluate, and procure materials from approved suppliers while ensuring quality, cost competitiveness, and timely deliveries.
Execute RFQs, analyze quotations, prepare comparative statements, and finalize suppliers based on commercial and technical evaluations.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, contracts, and annual commercial agreements with suppliers.
Coordinate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Production teams to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
Monitor supplier performance on quality, delivery, responsiveness, and commercial commitments.
Develop procurement strategies to achieve cost savings, improve supplier performance, and reduce procurement risks.
Track purchase orders, expedite critical materials, and resolve supply-related issues to avoid production delays.
Maintain procurement records, supplier databases, and ensure compliance with procurement policies and processes.
Analyze market trends, raw material pricing, and supplier capabilities to identify sourcing opportunities.
Drive cost reduction initiatives through value engineering, alternate sourcing, localization, and supplier negotiations.
Build strong relationships with suppliers while ensuring continuous improvement and long-term partnerships.
Work with cross-functional teams to support new product development (NPD), product launches, and sourcing of new components.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Procurement/Purchase experience in the Consumer Durables industry.
Strong experience in procurement of components, raw materials, and finished goods.
Expertise in strategic sourcing, procurement planning, vendor management, and commercial negotiations.
Experience handling RFQs, supplier selection, cost analysis, purchase orders, and contract management.
Good understanding of manufacturing processes, BOMs, costing, and supply chain operations.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
