Job Description for Thermal Process Engineer / Senior Thermal Process Engineer
Scope & Purpose:
Contribute to IDE Water Technologies' success by applying your expertise in
thermal process design and engineering related to MED (Multi-Effect
Distillation), MVC (Mechanical Vapor Compression) crystallizers, and other
advanced thermal technologies.
Job Description / Duties:
As a Thermal Process Engineer, your responsibilities will include, but are not
limited to:
•Thermal Process Design:
oDevelop preliminary and detailed designs for MED, MVC crystallizers, and
other thermal treatment technologies.
oPerform heat transfer calculations, steam balance analysis, and energy
efficiency optimization.
oConduct design and sizing of heat exchangers, evaporators, and condensers.
oIntegrate best practices for controlling scaling, corrosion, and fouling in
thermal systems.
•Process Documentation:
oPrepare PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams), P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation
Diagrams), and heat and material balance documents.
oDevelop control philosophies, operational manuals, and commissioning
procedures.
•Project Related Activities:
oLead and participate in technical meetings, decision-making processes, and
coordination with clients and overseas offices.
oPrepare RFQs (Request for Quotations), scopes of work, datasheets, and
technical specifications for equipment and materials.
oConduct technical evaluations and comparisons of bids and proposals from
suppliers.
•Commissioning and Support:
oParticipate in commissioning activities, including on-site support and
troubleshooting.Collaborate with PLC engineers for logic development and
system integration.
oProvide training and support to operations and maintenance teams.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
•B.Tech. in Chemical, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering (recognized
degrees from accredited universities).
•5-8 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in thermal process
engineering, preferably in water treatment or desalination.
•Proficient in process simulation and design software, such as Aspen Plus or
HYSYS.
•Strong understanding of BPE (Boiling Point Elevation), heat and mass transfer
principles, and thermodynamics.
•Experience with P&IDs, process calculations, and equipment sizing.
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work
independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
•Knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements
for water treatment and desalination.
Other Requirements and Information:
•A postgraduate degree (M. Tech or equivalent) is preferred.
•Willingness to undergo long-term training (8-12 weeks) abroad.
•Availability for travel to Israel for design work, potentially up to 2 months
at a time.
•Willingness to travel for commissioning projects in India and abroad, with
potential stays of 6-8 weeks.
•Experience working in an ERP environment is an added advantage.
•Valid passport required; for married candidates, spouse's name should be
endorsed.
