Role Purpose

Lead the end-to-end project management of utility-scale Solar PV projects by driving cross-functional coordination, monitoring project execution, resolving critical bottlenecks, and ensuring timely project delivery.

The role will be based at the Head Office in Mumbai and will work closely with Site Construction Heads and other key stakeholders. Regular site visits will be required to monitor progress, facilitate decision-making, and resolve execution-related issues.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Management & Governance

• Drive overall coordination and governance of utility-scale Solar PV projects.
• Ensure projects are delivered within approved timelines, budgets and quality standards.
• Monitor project milestones and ensure timely completion of critical activities.
• Conduct regular project review meetings and follow up on action points.

2. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Land Acquisition, Commercial, Finance, EHS, Quality and O&M teams.
• Ensure alignment between HO functions and site teams for smooth project execution.
• Facilitate timely decisions and resolution of inter-functional issues.

3. Project Monitoring & Execution Support

• Track project progress against approved schedules and milestones.
• Identify delays, execution risks and critical project constraints.
• Work closely with Site Construction Heads to resolve bottlenecks and maintain project momentum.
• Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and support execution teams.

4. EPC & Vendor Coordination

• Coordinate with EPC contractors, OEMs, equipment suppliers, consultants and other vendors.
• Monitor key deliverables, material readiness and execution commitments.
• Drive resolution of technical, commercial and execution-related issues with contractors and vendors.

5. Risk & Issue Management

• Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation/recovery plans.
• Track critical issues until closure.
• Escalate major project constraints to senior management with recommended action plans.

6. Commercial & Schedule Review

• Review project schedules, contractual commitments and resource requirements.
• Coordinate with Commercial and Finance teams on project-related matters.
• Monitor potential schedule delays and support development of recovery plans.

7. Commissioning & Handover

• Coordinate with commissioning and O&M teams for project completion.
• Ensure readiness for testing, commissioning and grid connectivity.
• Facilitate smooth project handover to the O&M team.

8. MIS & Management Reporting

• Prepare project dashboards, MIS and management review presentations.
• Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, delays and critical decisions required.
• Maintain project governance and documentation for management review.

Key Stakeholders

Internal: Business Head / Head – Projects, Engineering, Procurement & SCM, Site Construction Heads, Land Acquisition, Commercial, Finance, EHS, Quality and O&M.

External: EPC Contractors, OEMs, Equipment Suppliers, Consultants, Utilities/Grid Authorities and Government Authorities.

Candidate Profile

• Full-time B.E./B.Tech is mandatory in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or equivalent Engineering.
• 15–20 years of experience in utility-scale Solar PV Project Management / Project Execution.
• Strong experience managing Solar PV projects from planning through commissioning.
• Hands-on experience in EPC coordination, project execution, pooling substations, transmission connectivity and commissioning.
• Experience coordinating with Site Construction Heads, EPC contractors, OEMs, Engineering, Procurement, Land and Commercial teams.
• Strong project monitoring, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to drive execution and resolve bottlenecks through cross-functional coordination.
• Willingness to travel extensively to project sites across India.
• PMP / PRINCE2 / PMI or equivalent certification will be an added advantage.
