Supplier Capability Enhancement -Sheet Metal/ Forging & Casting

Position : Sub Section Head – Supplier Capability Enhancement

Grade : M2 (Manager)

Department : New Product Development 
Location : Gurgaon (6 days working)

Job Purpose : Diagnose, rehabilitate, and upgrade existing underperforming suppliers struggling with quality, capacity, and operational delivery. This role requires to conduct deep-dive process audits, provide on-site technical handholding, resolve chronic production issues, and systematically lower supplier defect rates (PPM) to protect product Quality.

Key Responsibilities : 

• Process Audits & Gap Analysis 
  • Conduct deep-dive on-site audits at struggling vendor plants.
  • Map out end-to-end manufacturing process bottlenecks.
  • Assess line capacity, tooling wear, and operator compliance.
• Supplier Handholding & Issue Resolution 
  • Work floor-side with vendors to execute daily corrective actions.
  • Re-establish process controls (PQCS, PFMEA, and Control Plans).
  • Resolve complex electrical/electronic and imported part defects.
• PPM Reduction & Quality Turnaround 
  • Analyze defect trends using statistical tools (SPC, MSA).
  • Enforce strict 8D root-cause problem-solving frameworks.
  • Run verification audits on sample lots before shipment.
• Capacity Scaling & Run@Rate Optimization 
  • Run formal Run@Rate stress tests on vendor lines.
  • Upgrade fixture/die management alongside toolrooms.
  • Align supplier output capability with scaling volume demands.

Relevant Experience

·         Minimum 9-12 years experience in Part Development/ Supplier Quality in automobile industry

·         Understanding of Frame, Sheet metal, Tubular & Welded parts, Forging & Casting parts like Crankcase, Cylinder Head block, Crankshaft, Camshaft, Gears, Shaft, Spindle, Swing Arm, Cast wheel.
