Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Lead Software Engineer with strong backend experience in relational databases and .NET Core to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working directly with databases using SQL, including schema design and performance tuning, rather than relying primarily on ORM frameworks.

This role involves building scalable, high-performance backend services and contributing to full stack development where required. Exposure to React is desirable, making this role well-suited for engineers working in or transitioning toward a full stack role.

Key Responsibilities

• Work extensively with PostgreSQL or other relational databases (such as SQL Server, MySQL, etc.) using hands-on SQL development, including:
  • Schema and table design
  • Writing complex queries, joins, and stored procedures
  • Query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning
  • Database troubleshooting and maintenance
• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using C#, .NET Core, and ASP.NET Core.
• Build and enhance RESTful APIs ensuring security, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with frontend developers; familiarity with contributing to UI development using React is a plus.
• Analyze existing systems and implement improvements to performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Work closely with product owners and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following established best practices and coding standards.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting of applications in cloud or on‑prem environments.
• Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand‑ups, and retrospectives.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 8–12 years of professional software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong hands-on experience with C#, .NET Core, and ASP.NET Core .
• Extensive, hands-on experience working directly with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, or similar, including:
  • Writing and optimizing raw SQL queries
  • Database schema design and normalization
  • Performance tuning and indexing strategies
• Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency with Git and version control best practices.
• Experience working in Agile environments using tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Desirable / Nice to Have Skills

• Working knowledge of React, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, and CSS.
• Exposure to cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and messaging systems.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or containerized deployments.
• Experience with unit testing and integration testing frameworks.
