Job purpose

To lead the end-to-end soybean procurement strategy across origins, ensuring cost competitiveness, supply security, and alignment with trading, crushing, and commercial objectives.

Duties and responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Procurement Leadership:
  • Define and drive global soybean sourcing strategy across key origins (Brazil, Argentina, USA, etc.).
  • Align procurement plans with trading, crushing, and sales strategies.
• Global Sourcing & Supplier Management:
  • Build and manage relationships with international suppliers, exporters, and aggregators.
  • Negotiate large-scale contracts, pricing structures, and commercial terms.
• Market Intelligence & Strategy:
  • Track global soybean markets, crop cycles, weather patterns, and geopolitical developments.
  • Provide actionable insights to optimize sourcing decisions and margins.
• Commercial & Risk Management:
  • Manage price risk, basis risk, and counterparty exposure in coordination with trading teams.
  • Ensure adherence to risk frameworks, credit limits, and compliance policies.
• Supply Chain & Logistics Coordination:
  • Oversee end-to-end supply chain including shipping, freight, and port operations.
  • Ensure timely delivery aligned with crushing and customer requirements.
• Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Work closely with trading, finance, operations, and plant teams.
  • Support sales teams with market insights and supply positioning.
• Sustainability & Traceability:
  • Drive responsible sourcing initiatives including traceability and deforestation-free supply chains.
  • Align procurement practices with ESG and regulatory requirements.
• Team Leadership:
  • Lead and develop a high-performing procurement team across regions.
  • Drive performance, capability building, and succession planning.

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

      Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Engineering, Commerce, or related field
(MBA preferred)

   Experience:
12–18 years in agri-commodity procurement/trading, with strong soybean exposure
Experience in international sourcing is essential

   Skills:

• Deep understanding of global soybean markets and supply chains
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
• Exposure to commodity risk management
• Leadership and stakeholder management
• Strong analytical and decision-making capability
