POSITION SUMMARY

Blow Group of Companies is seeking a highly experienced, hands-on and results-oriented Senior Group Logistics Manager to take overall responsibility for the Group’s import, export, shipping, customs clearance, transportation and logistics operations.

The Group operates multiple industrial and manufacturing businesses covering plastics, film extrusion, sheet extrusion, thermoforming, PET preforms, HDPE closures, beverages, tissue converting and recycling . The successful candidate will manage logistics for raw materials, packaging materials, machinery, spare parts, engineering equipment and finished products .

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the Group’s complete import, export and local logistics operations .
• Track vessels, containers and shipments from supplier dispatch through final delivery.
• Monitor vessel schedules, transshipments, ETAs, delays and shipment lead times.
• Coordinate with international suppliers, shipping lines, freight forwarders, clearing agents, transporters, warehouses and internal departments.
• Ensure accurate and timely shipping and customs documentation.
• Manage Ghana customs clearance , permits, exemptions, classifications and regulatory approvals.
• Liaise with  Customs, Ports and Harbours Authority, shipping lines and other relevant authorities .
• Ensure timely clearance and evacuation of containers to minimise demurrage, detention and port-rent costs .
• Review and negotiate freight, clearing and transportation rates.
• Verify logistics invoices and control overall logistics costs.
• Manage container deposits, container returns and recovery of refundable deposits.
• Coordinate movement of materials, machinery and products between ports, factories and warehouses.
• Manage local transportation, truck scheduling, route planning and delivery performance.
• Coordinate logistics with procurement, production, engineering, warehouse and finance to prevent material shortages and production stoppages.
• Handle logistics for major industrial machinery, production lines, spare parts and project cargo.
• Identify logistics risks and proactively resolve shipment, customs, port and transportation problems.
• Lead and supervise the logistics team and external service providers.
• Establish and monitor KPIs covering clearance time, shipment lead time, freight cost, demurrage, detention and on-time delivery .
• Provide accurate daily, weekly and monthly logistics reports to Group Management.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Substantial senior-level experience in shipping, customs clearance, freight forwarding, transportation and supply-chain logistics .
• Strong practical knowledge of Ghanaian customs and port procedures .
• Experience in Ghana or another West African country is highly preferred.
• Experience in a large industrial, manufacturing, plastics, packaging, beverage or FMCG Group will be a major advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Shipping, Transport Management, Business, Commerce or related discipline preferred.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Highly organised, proactive, firm and capable of managing multiple priorities under pressure.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong commercial/cost-control awareness.
