Planning Head
Experience: 15+ Years
Industry Preference: Real Estate Developer / Construction / Contractor / PMC
Job Summary:
The Planning Head will be responsible for leading project planning, scheduling, monitoring,
and control functions across multiple projects. The role ensures timely project delivery,
optimal resource utilization, and adherence to budget through robust planning systems and
proactive risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning & Scheduling
Develop detailed project schedules using tools like Primavera (P6) / MS Project.
Define project scope, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
Establish Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for all projects.
Ensure alignment of planning with project execution strategy.
2. Monitoring & Control
Track project progress against baseline schedules.
Identify delays, analyse root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
Conduct regular site reviews and coordination meetings.
Ensure timely reporting of project status (MIS, dashboards, progress reports).
3. Resource & Cost Planning
Plan manpower, material, and equipment requirements.
Coordinate with procurement and execution teams for resource allocation.
Monitor project budgets and cost deviations in coordination with finance teams.
4. Risk Management
Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Maintain risk registers and ensure proactive issue resolution.
Implement delay analysis (EOT claims, impact analysis).
5. Coordination & Stakeholder Management
Liaise with internal teams (Projects, Design, Procurement, Contracts).
Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and clients.
Ensure seamless communication across all project stakeholders.
6. MIS & Reporting
Prepare and present weekly/monthly progress reports to management.
Develop dashboards for tracking KPIs like schedule variance, cost variance,
productivity.
Ensure accurate documentation and reporting systems.
7. Team Leadership
Lead and mentor planning engineers across projects.
Establish standardized planning processes and best practices.
Drive performance and accountability within the planning team.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong expertise in Primavera P6 / MS Project
In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies and project lifecycle
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong leadership and team management abilities
Effective communication and stakeholder management
Knowledge of contracts, claims, and delay analysis
Educational Qualification:
B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering
PMP / Planning-related certifications (preferred)

Project schedule adherence
Reduction in delays and cost overruns
Accuracy of planning and forecasting
Efficiency in resource utilization
Timely and accurate MIS reporting
Preferred Candidate Profile:
Experience handling multiple large-scale real estate or infrastructure projects
Proven track record in leading planning functions at an organizational level
Exposure to high-rise residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments
