About Role – AVP – Credit
Job Purpose
The Assistant Vice President – Credit will lead the credit function for
Housing Finance and Mortgage businesses, driving credit strategy,
underwriting excellence, portfolio quality, and risk management while
supporting sustainable business growth. The role will ensure robust credit
governance, policy development, process optimization, and effective
stakeholder management across the organization.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the overall credit underwriting and risk management function for
housing and mortgage products, ensuring a balanced approach to growth,
profitability, and asset quality.

Develop, implement, and periodically review credit policies,
underwriting standards, risk frameworks, and portfolio strategies in
line with business objectives and market dynamics.

Monitor portfolio performance through data-driven insights, early
warning mechanisms, and risk analytics to proactively manage credit
quality and mitigate emerging risks.

Drive operational excellence by strengthening credit processes,
improving turnaround times, ensuring compliance with internal controls
and regulatory requirements, and maintaining high service standards.

Partner with Business, Operations, Collections, Legal, Technical, and
Analytics teams to support product development, policy enhancements, and
strategic business initiatives.

Build and lead high-performing credit teams by fostering a culture of
accountability, continuous learning, collaboration, and ethical
decision-making while developing organizational credit capabilities.

Provide timely portfolio, risk, and policy updates to senior management
and the Board, ensuring effective governance and informed
decision-making.
Desired Candidate Profile:

15+ years of experience in Retail Credit and Risk Management, with
significant exposure to Housing Finance, Mortgage Lending, and secured
retail assets.
- MBA/CA/CFA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.

Strong expertise in credit underwriting, policy formulation, portfolio
management, and risk analytics.

Proven leadership experience in managing large teams and driving
cross-functional initiatives.

Excellent analytical, strategic, and stakeholder management skills with
a strong focus on governance and business growth.
