Job Description: Dispatch Manager – Tanks & Pipes
Job Purpose
The Dispatch Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the loading, dispatch,
and documentation of finished tanks and pipes to ensure accurate, timely, and damage-free
deliveries. The role ensures proper coordination between production, warehouse,
transport, and sales departments while maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and
inventory control.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise daily loading of tanks and pipes onto company and third-party trucks.
• Ensure correct quantities, sizes, and specifications are loaded as per delivery notes.
• Plan and prioritize dispatch schedules according to sales and delivery requirements.
• Monitor proper stacking and securing of tanks and pipes to prevent damage in transit.
• Coordinate with Production to ensure finished goods availability.
• Liaise with Sales and Logistics teams to align dispatch priorities.
• Verify delivery notes, invoices, and gate passes before dispatch.
• Maintain accurate dispatch records and stock movement reports.
• Organize yard space for efficient storage and movement of tanks and pipes.
• Supervise loading staff and forklift operators.
• Enforce safety standards during loading operations and ensure proper use of PPE.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• On-time dispatch rate
• Loading accuracy (zero wrong dispatch)
• Damage rate during loading
• Stock variance control
• Yard efficiency and turnaround time
Reporting Line
The Dispatch Manager shall report directly to the Operations Manager / Plant Manager.
