Government & Regulatory Liaison
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Central, State, and Local
Government authorities.
• Liaise with Urban Development Authorities, Municipal Corporations, Revenue
Departments, Pollution Control Boards,
Fire Departments, Airport Authority, BESCOM/DISCOM, Water Boards and other
statutory agencies.
• Ensure timely procurement of statutory approvals, licenses, NOCs, and
permissions required for project execution.
• Coordinate with regulatory authorities for project-related approvals and
compliance requirements.
Project Approvals & Statutory Clearances
• Drive end-to-end approval processes for new developments, commercial
buildings, data centres, mixed-use
developments, and infrastructure projects.
• Monitor approval timelines and proactively resolve bottlenecks.
• Work closely with consultants, architects, legal teams, project management,
and engineering teams to obtain
necessary clearances.
Land Acquisition & Due Diligence Support
• Support the identification, evaluation, and acquisition of land parcels and
strategic assets for new development and
investment projects.
• Coordinate with government authorities and statutory bodies to facilitate
land acquisition processes
• Liaise with Revenue Departments, Town Planning Authorities, Urban
Development Authorities, Registration
Departments, and other government agencies to obtain documents.
• Identify regulatory risks during the due diligence phase and provide
recommendations to ensure compliance and
mitigate acquisition-related risks.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all statutory
approvals and regulatory requirements are
completed before project acquisition and development.
• Maintain comprehensive records of land-related approvals, due diligence
reports, and regulatory documentation.
• Work closely with the Investments, Development Management, Legal, Finance,
and Projects teams to ensure timely
completion of acquisition milestones and project readiness.
Stakeholder Management
• Develop and maintain productive relationships with government officials,
industry bodies, civic authorities, and local
communities.
• Represent Us during official meetings with external agencies.
• Support leadership during strategic discussions involving regulatory
matters.
Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure adherence to all statutory regulations and government guidelines.
• Identify regulatory risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Monitor policy changes affecting the real estate and infrastructure sectors.
• Maintain complete documentation of approvals and regulatory correspondence.
Cross-functional Collaboration
• Partner with Legal, Projects, Development Management, EHS, Corporate
Affairs, Finance, and Business teams.
• Support land acquisition and due diligence activities from a liaison
perspective.
• Facilitate smooth coordination during inspections conducted by government
authorities.
Crisis & Issue Resolution
• Address project-related regulatory challenges and escalate issues
appropriately.
• Coordinate with authorities during emergency situations or compliance
inspections.
• Ensure minimal disruption to project timelines due to regulatory issues.
Industry Representation
• Represent us in industry associations, government forums, and policy
discussions.
• Build networks with key stakeholders to strengthen our market presence.
Reporting & Governance
• Prepare periodic reports on approval status, regulatory developments, and
key stakeholder engagements.
• Maintain dashboards tracking statutory approvals and compliance milestones.
• Present updates to senior leadership on critical approvals and liaison
activities.
KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
• Strong network and established relationships with government bodies,
regulatory authorities, and statutory agencies
across India.
• In-depth knowledge of real estate/Data Centre regulatory frameworks, urban
planning norms, environmental
clearances, and municipal approval processes.
• Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and relationship-building
skills.
• High level of integrity, discretion, and sound judgement in handling
sensitive matters.
• Strong communication skills across multiple languages relevant to the region
of operation.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple, time-critical approval
processes simultaneously.
• Proactive, solution-oriented approach with strong problem-solving ability.
• Willingness to travel extensively across project locations in India.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Graduate / Postgraduate degree in any discipline; a degree in Law, Public
Administration, or Urban Planning is an
added advantage.
• 20+ years of experience in government liaison, regulatory affairs, or
corporate affairs roles, preferably within real
estate, infrastructure, or large industrial/commercial project environments.
• Demonstrated track record of securing statutory approvals and managing
regulatory relationships for large-scale
developments.
• Prior experience engaging with Central, State, and Local Government bodies,
and familiarity with the approval
ecosystem across key Indian markets.
