Position Overview

The Head of Operations is responsible for driving operational excellence, process efficiency, and scalable growth across FuelBuddy’s fuel delivery operations in the UAE. This leadership role oversees end-to-end operations including fleet management, dispatch and scheduling, customer experience, HSE compliance, and logistics planning. The ideal candidate will develop and implement robust operational processes, strengthen organizational capabilities, ensure compliance with UAE regulatory standards, and lead the strategic expansion of operations in alignment with FuelBuddy’s business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operations Leadership & Strategic Planning

·         Lead day-to-day operations for fuel delivery, ensuring seamless, efficient, and timely service across all sites.

·         Develop and implement long-term operational strategies to support business growth, improve service quality, and optimize cost structures.

·         Build and enforce scalable operational frameworks, SOPs, and process workflows.

·         Define, monitor, and refine SLAs, KPIs, and operational metrics to drive consistent performance improvement.

·         Partner with leadership to support expansion initiatives, new projects, and market development.

2. Fleet & Logistics Management

·         Oversee fleet operations, including fuel tankers, drivers, and dispatch activities.

·         Ensure systematic maintenance, inspections, compliance, and lifecycle management of all vehicles.

·         Use data-driven route optimization to maximize fleet utilization, reduce downtime, and control costs.

·         Oversee GPS/telemetry systems for real-time tracking, performance monitoring, and incident reporting.

3. Health, Safety & Regulatory Compliance (HSE)

·         Ensure full compliance with UAE Civil Defence, RTA, Muncipality and all federal/local safety regulations.

·         Implement and enforce safety SOPs for fuel handling, loading, unloading, transport, and depot operations.

·         Lead safety audits, risk assessments, toolbox talks, and incident investigations.

·         Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring continuous training and regulatory alignment.

4. Customer Service & Stakeholder Management

·         Ensure service excellence through timely deliveries, proactive issue resolution, and effective coordination with key clients and partners.

·         Serve as an escalation point for service disruptions, customer concerns, or operational deviations.

·         Collaborate closely with the sales and business teams to ensure commitments, service levels, and contractual terms are met.

5. Team Leadership & Workforce Development

·         Lead operational teams including dispatchers, supervisors, drivers, and field staff.

·         Build a high-performance culture through coaching, capability development, and structured performance evaluations.

·         Drive training initiatives focused on safety, customer service, operational efficiency, and process adherence.

6. Process Implementation, Digital Operations & Reporting

·         Deploy digital tools for scheduling, monitoring, route planning, and inventory control.

·         Develop and maintain operational dashboards and MIS reports for senior management.

·         Identify operational gaps and implement continuous improvement projects to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and streamline workflows.

·         Oversee operational budgeting and apply process optimization to achieve cost savings and efficiency gains.

7. Inventory, Fuel Handling & Supply Chain Management

·         Manage fuel inventory, storage locations, and end-to-end supply coordination.

·         Ensure strict controls for fuel movement, consumption, wastage prevention, and reconciliation.

·         Maintain accurate documentation and ensure readiness for internal/external audits.

Qualifications & Experience

·         Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.

·         8–12+ years of experience in logistics, fleet operations, fuel distribution, or related heavy-operations environments.

·         Strong knowledge of UAE fuel industry standards, HSE regulations, and regulatory frameworks.

·         Proven experience scaling operations, implementing processes, and managing large fleet-based teams.

·         Proficiency in ERP/logistics platforms, GPS tracking systems, and advanced MIS reporting tools.

·         Strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset with the ability to drive continuous improvement.
