| Education | BE / BTech / Diploma (Mechanical / Production / Metallurgy) |
| Purpose of the Role | To support aluminium forging operations and development activities by ensuring stable production, robust processes, and manufacturable die designs , meeting quality, delivery, and cost targets. |
| Key Responsibilities | |
| 1. Aluminium Forging Production (if Production-oriented) | Plan and monitor aluminium forging production (hot / warm / cold forging) |
| Ensure control of billet heating, forging parameters, lubrication, and cooling | |
| Achieve production, quality, and productivity targets | |
| Reduce rejection, rework, and scrap | |
| 2. Process Engineering & Die Design (if Design-oriented) | Develop forging process routes , preforms, and die concepts |
| Support die design for blocker / finisher / trimming | |
| Ensure material flow, grain flow, and defect prevention | |
| Support tool trials, prove-out, and SOP stabilization | |
| 3. Quality & Process Control | Ensure adherence to control plans, work instructions, and specifications |
| Monitor process capability, first-off approval, and in-process checks | |
| Support PPAP, APQP, trials, and customer audits | |
| Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions | |
| 4. New Product Development (NPD) | Support RFQ feasibility, sample development, and trials |
| Coordinate with Design, Quality, Machine Shop, and Tool Room | |
| Ensure smooth transition from development to mass production | |
| 5. Tooling, Fixtures & Improvement | Coordinate with tool room for die manufacturing, maintenance, and life improvement |
| Support VA/VE and process optimization | |
| 6. Safety, 5S & Compliance | Ensure compliance with safety standards and plant procedures |
| Drive 5S, housekeeping, and discipline | |
| Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and internal systems | |
| Support audits with data and evidence | |
| Skills & Competencies | Strong understanding of aluminium forging metallurgy and processes |
| Knowledge of die design principles and forging defects | |
| Ability to read drawings and technical specifications | |
| Practical, shop-floor-oriented problem solving | |
| Good coordination and communication skills | |
