ROLE PURPOSE
Owns RMZ's institutional relationships in Karnataka at the policy tier — the
Chief Minister's Office, the Chief Secretary, Urban Development at ministerial
and principal-secretary level, the chairs of the development authority and of
Karnataka RERA, and investment promotion — and builds a second, complementary
layer of relationships in Uttar Pradesh, including Tourism and Hospitality, in
direct support of the Managing Director's own coverage of that state.
KEY ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED
• 12–15 years of experience in Institutional Relations / Corporate Relations.
• Established, high-level contacts across Karnataka's key ministries and
government offices — including the Police and the RTO.
• Fluent in English and well versed in Kannada.
• Comfortable using AI tools and digital platforms effectively in day-to-day
work.
• Able to prepare reports and collate data for the Managing Director and the
Executive Board on request.
Where this seat sits. This is the Vice President, Karnataka seat within
Institutional Relations — one of three state Vice President seats, alongside
Maharashtra (Mumbai) and Andhra Pradesh &
Telangana (Hyderabad). It reports to Managing Director, Institutional
Relations, who also holds the Strategic Intelligence Cohort in Delhi and
carries Uttar Pradesh — together with
Delhi and Haryana — directly, since there is no dedicated Vice President for
the North. The Uttar Pradesh relationships in this mandate are built as the
second name behind the Managing Director's own coverage of that state, not as
a separate seat: depth, not duplication.

WHAT IS TO BE OWNED YOURS STANDARD
The policy relationships Karnataka in full, and Uttar Pradesh in support of
the Managing Director —chief ministers' offices and chief secretaries,
ministers and principal
secretaries, development-authority and RERA chairs, and investment-promotion
leadership. Anyone who defines policy rather than administers it.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Hold, personally and by name, the Karnataka policy-tier relationships: the
Chief Minister's Office and Chief Secretary; the Urban Development minister
and principal secretary; the chairs of the
development authority and of Karnataka RERA; and Invest Karnataka leadership.
• Build and sustain a parallel relationship layer in Uttar Pradesh — the Chief
Minister's Office and Chief Secretary, Housing and Urban Planning at
ministerial and principal-secretary level, the chief executives of the Noida,
Greater Noida and Yamuna authorities, UP RERA, Invest UP, and Tourism and
Hospitality — as the second name behind the Managing Director's own coverage
of the state.
• Track Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh policy movement — urban policy,
FSI/TDR-linked notifications, RERA rule changes, tourism and hospitality
regulation — ahead of it becoming public,
and feed it into the function's quarterly policy brief.
• Log every regulatory commitment made at investment committee for Karnataka
(and any Uttar Pradesh-linked) projects, dated, and report it monthly with
slippage flagged early.
• Hold the boundary at the policy tier: route sanctions, permits, occupancy,
FSI/TDR pricing, title clearance and working-level authority engagement to
Corporate Relations under the regional
delivery heads — never take it on personally.
• Maintain and refresh, twice yearly, the Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh
relationship map: the relationship, the name, the level, and through whom it
is held.
• Close out any retainer arrangements covering these relationships onto an
establishment basis, or end them; where a retired officer is the right answer,
they join the house rather than invoice it.
• Keep the standing weekly cadence with the Managing Director: what moved,
what is at risk against an investment-committee commitment, and what is
needed.
