General Manager - Planning

  Role Purpose

The General Manager – Planning & Project Controls will be responsible for leading the Planning and Project Controls function across multiple Design & Build building projects in the Mumbai Region. The role shall provide strategic leadership in project planning, scheduling, monitoring, recovery planning, resource planning, progress measurement, delay analysis, MIS reporting and project controls to ensure timely, safe, profitable and high-quality project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

•                      Lead planning and project controls across multiple high-value building projects.

•                      Develop integrated master schedules from tender stage to project completion.

•                      Establish baseline schedules and monitor project performance.

•                      Primavera P6 & Microsoft Projects

•                      Drive short-, medium- and long-term planning.

•                      Develop executive dashboards and MIS reports.

•                      Monitor schedule risks and prepare recovery plans.

•                      Coordinate with Project Heads for milestone achievement.

•                      Monitor critical path activities and recommend corrective actions.

•                      Lead manpower, equipment and resource planning.

•                      Coordinate with Procurement for long-lead materials.

•                      Support Billing and Commercial teams for revenue planning.

•                      Lead project forecasting and completion projections.

•                      Standardize planning procedures across projects.

•                      Lead Primavera P6 implementation and planning systems.

•                      Support Tender and Business Development during bid planning.

•                      Develop and mentor Planning Engineers.

Project Planning, Project Controls, Primavera P6, Scheduling, Monitoring, Progress Measurement, Resource Planning, Recovery Planning, Delay Analysis, Time Impact Analysis, Dashboard & MIS, Productivity Monitoring, Billing Coordination, Procurement Coordination, Risk Management and Executive Reporting.

Candidate Profile

•                      BE/B.Tech in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred).

•                      MBA with Finance will also be needed.

•                      20+ years of experience in Building Construction.

•                      Minimum 10 years in Planning & Project Controls leadership.

•                      Experience handling project portfolios exceeding ₹2,000 Crores.

•                      Mandatory Design & Build and High-Rise Building experience.

•                      Expert knowledge of Primavera P6, MS Project and project control systems.

Mandatory Eligibility / Exclusion Criteria

•                      Only candidates with substantial High-Rise Building Construction experience will be considered.

•                      Experience in Residential, Commercial, Institutional, Healthcare, Hospitality, Airports and Mixed-use Buildings is preferred.

•                      Candidates whose primary experience is in Roads, Highways, Bridges, Metro, Railways, Ports, Tunnels, Irrigation, Pipelines, Power, Oil & Gas, Industrial Infrastructure, Mining or other infrastructure sectors shall not be considered.

•                      Candidates must demonstrate long-term organizational stability.

•                      Preference will be given to candidates with at least 5–7 years of service in one reputed organization and progressive career growth.

•                      Frequent job changes (typically less than 2–3 years per organization without valid justification) will not be be preferred.
