Job Function : Business Intelligence Unit / Senior Manager/Manager – BIU

Function: Business Intelligence Unit (BIU)

Reporting To: Head – BIU

Role Level: Individual Contributor (with scope to grow into lead role)

Role Objective

The role is responsible for delivering timely, accurate, and compliant data outputs to business, leadership, and regulators. The incumbent will handle day‑to‑day data requests, complex ad‑hoc analyses, automation of recurring reports, and regulatory MIS , while continuously improving efficiency, data quality, and insight generation.

This role is critical in ensuring that business decisions and regulatory submissions are powered by reliable, audit‑ready data .

Key Responsibilities

Data Requests & Ad‑hoc Analysis

Cater to data requests from business, finance, risk, operations, and leadership teams
Translate ambiguous business questions into structured data queries and actionable insights
Deliver deep‑dive analyses , trends, root‑cause insights, and exception reports as required
Maintain clear documentation of assumptions, definitions, and logic used

Regulatory & Statutory Reporting (NBFC Focus)

Prepare and validate regulatory MIS and returns required for RBI, statutory audits, internal audits, NHB and compliance teams
Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across regulatory and internal reports
Adhere strictly to regulatory timelines, formats, and data definitions

MIS, Dashboards & Reporting

Improvise on daily / monthly MIS, dashboards, and scorecards
Support in enhancing KPI definitions and reporting frameworks
Ensure single version of truth (SVOT) across reports and stakeholders
Perform data reconciliation and validation checks before report publishing

Automation & Process Improvement

Identify repetitive, manual, and high‑effort reports suitable for automation
Build and maintain automated workflows using Advanced Excel, Alteryx (preferred), or any other BI tools
Improve reporting efficiency, scalability, and accuracy through automation
Actively contribute to analytics and reporting transformation initiatives

Data Quality & Governance

Perform data quality checks , validation, exception handling, and gap analysis
Flag data anomalies, inconsistencies, or control issues proactively
Partner with IT/data engineering teams to resolve upstream data issues

Key Skills & Technical Expertise

Strong hands‑on experience in Advanced MS Excel (Power Query, macros preferred)
Solid working knowledge for data extraction and analysis
Experience with Power BI
Exposure to Alteryx or other automation tools is a strong advantage
Ability to work with large, multi‑source datasets

Domain & Business Understanding

Good understanding of NBFC products, portfolios, and performance metrics
Exposure to lending, risk, collections, finance, or regulatory reporting preferred
Awareness of RBI reporting requirements and NBFC compliance expectations

Education & Experience

Education: Graduate / Post‑Graduate (Finance, Analytics, Engineering, Statistics, or related fields)
Experience:
- 5 + years in the similar domain
- Prior experience in BI, MIS, Analytics, or Regulatory Reporting within NBFC / BFSI preferred
