About the Role
We are seeking a Senior HR Leader to join our leadership team. This role combines strategic HR business partnering with leadership of Industrial Relations (IR) and Statutory Compliance functions. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned HR professional with a proven track record in driving people strategy, fostering strong labour relations, and ensuring regulatory compliance across a complex, multi-location /region organization with a proven track record of managing large sized organizations with a minimum headcount of 30 to 50k employees, mainly Blue Collared workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Compliance & Governance
- Ensure adherence to applicable labour laws, timely adherence to statutory requirements such as minimum wage revisions, bonus, designing complaint salary structure for new business and guide relevant teams ( operations , business development, mobilization & HR ) on the initial and recurring compliance requirements without any compromise.
- Oversee statutory and labour law compliance across all locations and business units.
- Ensure timely audits, filings, and adherence to all applicable labour laws and regulations.
- Develop and maintain compliance dashboards, risk registers, and internal controls.
- Liaise with legal counsel and regulatory bodies as needed.
2. HR Business Partnering
- Act as a strategic advisor to business leaders on workforce planning, talent management, organizational design, and change management.
- Drive employee engagement, leadership development, and succession planning initiatives.
- Partner with business units to align HR strategies with business goals and performance metrics.
- Lead HR interventions during business transformations, mergers, or restructuring.
3. Industrial Relations (IR)
- Lead all aspects of industrial relations including union negotiations, grievance handling, and dispute resolution across regions for PAN India.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with trade unions, labour authorities, and external stakeholders.
- Ensure proactive management of labour issues to maintain a harmonious work environment.
- Develop and implement IR strategies that support business continuity and employee well-being.
- Maintain discipline at sites and base office to adhere to applicable labour laws and initiate suitable actions in case of indiscipline.
Qualifications & Experience:
- MBA in HR with minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in end-to-end HR Business Partnering. Degree in Law (LLB) and/or Labour Law to be specific.
- Master’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Overall 15+ years of progressive HR experience with IR/Compliance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Deep knowledge of Indian labour laws, industrial relations frameworks, and compliance requirements.
- Experience in manufacturing, infrastructure, or other labour-intensive industries preferred.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
