JOB DESCRIPTION 
Job Title: Manager - Production Section: 
Department: Plant-Refinery & Tank Farm Job Grade: Manager 
Reporting to (job title): Refinery Head
Overall purpose of job: 
To be over all responsible for the edible oil refinery of CIl, Lambarene plant and to manage all the 
activities and to ensure that the market demand is met. The work managed by the position are 
production at the Refinery, Tank farm management and oil and by product inventory. The position is 
also responsible to help drive EHS, QA and Maintenance within the Refinery. 
Key Responsibilities: 
 Overall responsibility for oil refinery production and indirect responsibility for maintenance, 
EHS, QA within the Refinery. 
 To ensure operations of the refinery are within budgets of costs and efficiency. 
 Help drive the EHS and QA program and targets within the refinery. 
 Ensure specific consumption of utilities, chemical consumptions & manpower as per the actual / 
budgeted figures for all plant operations. 
 Drive innovation and operations excellence initiatives within the Refinery 
 To help inculcate best practices in each of the sections under the refinery to make it best in class 
 Lead the team of the refinery and allied area like tank farm etc and be responsible for their 
trainings and development in conjunction with the HR team 
 Weekly/ Monthly MIS report generation. 
 Accountable for the Oil and by product stocks within the Plant, NOT just refinery 
 Monitor in process plant monitoring to adhere with standard norms. 
Special requirements, external and internal contacts, travel, working conditions, etc 
Key success factor for this position is to bring in Change management through various plant initiatives and 
development of the skills networking closely with; 
Internal stake holders: Plant Team, Mill Team and the Olam Corporate team 
External stake holders: Vendors, Service Providers & Plant Consultants 
Education, qualifications, special training, experience and skills 
 Education: B. Tech in Oil technology or B. Tech -Chemical. 
 Experience : Minimum 10 years managing edible Oil refinery with at least 2 years managing the 
Process Independently 
Areas of Experience – 
 Through knowledge of Palm oil Refining and Fractionation and processing efficiencies 
 Good working knowledge of Water Treatment ( RO, DM etc) , Boiler, ETP, Packaging of Jars, 
Bottles, Blowing of PET, Extrusion of HDPE 
 Good knowledge of working with ERP, inventory management, budgeting and Cost management 
 To have organizing & planning capabilities. 
 Practical knowledge of the industry, quality and business methods/standards
