KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Installation and Assembly:
Fitters assemble machinery and mechanical systems according to technical specifications and
blueprints.
Routine Maintenance:
Perform regular checks and maintenance on equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure
optimal performance.
Troubleshooting and Repair:
Identify and diagnose malfunctions in machinery and equipment, and then carry out necessary
repairs.
Fabrication and Fitting:
Fabricate, fit, and shape metal parts and components using hand and power tools, often
working to precise measurements.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to strict safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other team members, including engineers and production staff, to optimize
equipment performance and minimize downtime.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical systems, machinery, and tools.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
Manual Dexterity: Proficiency in using hand and power tools for cutting, shaping, and fitting
metal parts.
Attention to Detail: Ability to work with precision and accuracy when assembling and repairing
equipment.
Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, often working long hours on
their feet.
