ACCOUNTS & FINANCE MANAGER
REPORTS TO
Head of Finance & Accounts

Full-time | Managerial (team of 7)
ROLE PURPOSE
Lead the management accounting, financial accounting and credit control
functions for the organisation, ensuring
accurate and timely reporting, disciplined internal controls, healthy working
capital and full statutory compliance.
The role heads a team of seven and partners closely with Supply Chain,
Production, Logistics, Commercial and HR
to safeguard the company’s financial position, control cost and provide the
insight that supports profitable growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Reporting, Budgeting & MIS
● Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial results, together with the
supporting management reporting
pack.
● Prepare the annual company budget and issue budget performance information
to stakeholders on a periodic
basis.
● Report variances as they arise, explain the underlying drivers and recommend
corrective action.
● Review all trial balance general ledgers as part of the month-end close.
● Prepare department-wise cost analysis and identify opportunities to reduce
cost.
● Prepare investment and capital expenditure appraisals and reports.
● Provide financial analysis and information that supports revenue growth
initiatives.
Accounting Operations & Inventory Control
● Verify all entries, expenses and transactions posted in the system for
accuracy and completeness.
● Reconcile raw material, packaging material and finished goods balances with
Production.
● Follow up with Supply Chain on stock inward reporting.
● Lead periodic physical stock counts — finished goods with Logistics and
RM/PM with Supply Chain — and
resolve variances.
● Verify the monthly payroll submission received from HR prior to
disbursement.
Treasury, Credit Control & Working Capital
● Implement and enforce the credit policy across all customer accounts.
● Monitor debtor ageing and drive timely collection of receivables.
● Review accounts receivable and bank reconciliations.
● Manage vendor payment schedules in line with agreed terms and cash
availability.
● Forecast cash flow and funding requirements and advise on resources needed.
● Coordinate with banks on day-to-day transactions and facilities.
● Reconcile accounts with forwarding agents and allocate funds to clear
shipments on time.
● Monitor financial risk exposure and implement appropriate mitigation.
Governance, Compliance & Controls
● Ensure all accounting activity and books of account comply with country
financial regulations and statutory
guidelines.
● Implement and monitor F&A policies and standard operating procedures for
financial transactions.
● Ensure internal audits are carried out in line with financial policy and
close out findings.
● Maintain secure procedures for the handling of confidential financial
information.
● Identify and drive process improvement and automation opportunities across
the function.
People Leadership
● Lead, motivate and develop a team of seven and maintain constructive
employee relations.
● Identify and approve learning and skill development plans for the team.
● Guide and assess manpower planning for the function.
● Plan and deliver occupational health, safety and environment training within
the department.
PROFILE & SKILLS
Education: Chartered Accountant (CA).
Experience: 8–10 years in accounts and finance, including hands-on plant
accounting experience. Beverages
industry preferred; otherwise FMCG or manufacturing.
Systems: SAP; strong working knowledge of accounting software and advanced
Excel.
Knowledge, Skills & Behaviour
● Strong technical grounding in financial management, management accounting
and statutory reporting.
● Sound understanding of inventory and plant accounting in a manufacturing
environment.
● Proven people management capability — able to build, coach and hold
accountable a mid-sized team.

● Analytical and commercially minded, with the ability to explain financial
results to non-finance stakeholders.
