Job Description: Senior QA Shift Incharge (Quality & Process Integration)
Reporting To: Quality Assurance Manager
Department: Quality Assurance
Location: Milkit Business Unit/ Tetra Pak
Purpose of the Role
To leverage extensive dairy processing expertise to proactively identify and
close operational and
quality management system gaps. The role is instrumental in facilitating
technical collaboration
between Quality, Production, and Maintenance departments to ensure compliance
with FSMS (FSSC
22000), enhance product consistency, and drive measurable improvements in food
safety, process
hygiene, equipment reliability, and production yield.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct detailed line audits to identify deviations in PRP, GMP, GHP, and
CCP/OPRP compliance
within production and filling areas.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to validate effectiveness of preventive
maintenance
schedules and equipment calibration impacting product quality (e.g., flow
meters, temperature
probes, conductivity sensors).
• Investigate recurring non-conformances through structured Root Cause
Analysis (RCA) using tools
like 5-Whys, Fishbone Diagram, and implement CAPA across affected departments.
• Review CIP and COP validation records and collaborate on improvement of
cleaning
effectiveness using ATP swab testing or visual inspection criteria.
• Analyze equipment downtime, micro and macro rework trends, and packaging
defects to
propose process engineering or handling solutions.
• Verify operational control measures on critical equipment such as UHT,
pasteurizer, homogenizer,
and filling machines to minimize microbiological and physical risks.
• Ensure OPRP/CCP logbooks are accurately maintained, and deviations are
escalated in real time
with evidence-based actions.
• Provide technical review of SOPs, SSOPs, and work instructions related to
hygiene, sampling,
labelling, and start-up/shutdown procedures.
• Collaborate with QA to train operators and technicians in line-specific
hygiene monitoring, defect
classification, sample handling, and record integrity.
• Support process capability studies and yield optimization by conducting
batch time studies,
standard loss mapping, and shift-wise performance reviews.
Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Dairy Technology, Food Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 10- 12 years of hands-on experience in dairy production and QA roles
within UHT,
pasteurized milk, flavored milk, or aseptic filling operations.
• Technical knowledge of process control instrumentation (flow meters,
temperature sensors,
pressure gauges, etc.).
• Working knowledge of FSSC 22000, HACCP, PRPs, and GMP requirements with
ability to interpret

• Proficient in interpreting trend data (e.g., rework, downtime, waste),
analyzing root causes, and
leading corrective/preventive action planning.
• Good communication skills to facilitate cross-functional alignment and lead
operational
improvement meetings.
Performance Metrics
• Reduction in product rework due to processing or packaging deviations by X%.
• Audit readiness and reduction in number of repeat non-conformities during
FSMS or customer
audits.
• The number and effectiveness of cross-functional CAPAs implemented and
closed within target
timelines.
• Improvement in first pass yield and reduction in production downtime
attributed to quality or
equipment-related issues.
• Number of hygiene, FSMS, and technical training sessions delivered and
evaluated for operator
competency.
• Sustained compliance with CCP/OPRP monitoring protocols and real-time
documentation
accuracy.
