About the Role
The Company is seeking a dynamic and business-oriented legal professional for the role of Head of Legal (VP / Sr. VP) . The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in corporate and commercial laws with a strategic mindset to support business growth, partnerships, and organizational governance.
This role requires a seasoned corporate lawyer with strong contract negotiation capabilities, strong understanding of intellectual property rights matters, and prior experience preferably within the IT / technology ecosystem. The incumbent will lead the legal function while closely partnering with leadership teams on high-value strategic transactions, large partnership agreements and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the organization’s legal function along with a team of 2 lawyers.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize complex commercial agreements and high-value partnership contracts.
- Provide strategic legal guidance on corporate laws, commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, and business structuring.
- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance across business operations.
- Handle matters related to data protection and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), including trademarks, licensing, technology agreements, and protection of organizational assets.
- Advise management on legal risks, mitigation strategies, and governance frameworks.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support business expansion, strategic alliances, and partnerships.
- Oversee external legal counsel wherever required.
- Develop and strengthen internal legal processes, policies, and documentation standards.
- Support senior leadership in decision-making from a legal and commercial risk perspective.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Qualified Lawyer with strong academic credentials from a reputed institution.
- 12–15 years of relevant experience in corporate/commercial legal roles.

- Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Data Protection matters
- Technology / IT-related legal frameworks
- Corporate Governance & Compliance
- Prior experience in the IT / Technology industry will be highly preferred.
- Proven ability to negotiate and close high-value commercial and partnership contracts.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and business partnering skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
