Job Description Job Objective
Job Title Head of Operations The Plant Head of Operations will be responsible
for leading and
managing overall plant activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-
effective production while meeting defined quality and service targets.
The role oversees soya processing operations, machine performance,
yield optimization, regulatory compliance, and cost control, while
ensuring adherence safety standards. Additionally, the incumbent will
drive operational excellence through team leadership, performance
monitoring, continuous improvement, and effective coordination with
engineering and other cross-functional teams.

Main Responsibilities Key Performance Indicators / KPIs
• Lead overall plant operations including production, maintenance
coordination, quality
compliance, and warehouse alignment to ensure achievement of production and
service
targets for Soya.
• Supervise soya processing activities such as cleaning, extrusion, drying,
and packaging,
ensuring machinery is operated within defined process parameters.
• Ensure optimal machine utilization, improve uptime, and reduce breakdown
frequency
through strong coordination with the engineering team.
• Monitor product yield, wastage levels, and process efficiency, implementing
corrective
measures to maintain cost and performance benchmarks.
• Ensure strict compliance with GMP, HACCP, and local regulatory requirements,
and lead
preparation for internal and external audits.
• Manage plant operating costs including manpower, utilities, and consumables,
identifying
opportunities for efficiency improvement and cost savings.
• Prepare and present periodic plant performance reports covering production,
cost, efficiency,
and safety metrics.
• Lead, coach, and develop plant supervisors, engineers, and operators,
ensuring performance
management and capability building across the team.
• Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with workplace
health, safety, and
environmental standards.
• Achievement of monthly and annual production targets as per approved plan.
• Maintenance of defined yield and efficiency standards across all processing
stages.
• Manufacturing cost per ton within approved budget limits.
• Improvement in machine uptime and reduction in unplanned downtime.

Education/Experience/Skills required
Education Required
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / electrical or food technology
from a reputed University.
• 8–10 years of hands-on experience in Soya processing with
exposure to handling soya machinery.
• Proven experience in leading plant-level operations, managing
cross-functional teams, and delivering operational
performance targets.
Technical Skills Required
• Hands-on experience with all Soya Equipment including
Extruders, Dryers, expellers.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities
• Decision-making under pressure
• Technical leadership and team management
• Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies
(TPM, Lean, Kaizen)
