POSITION SUMMARY
The Regional Sales Manager North India is responsible for the identification and development of business opportunities, account, and relationship management, and preservation and expansion of customer base for a designated territory to achieve personal and company goals. Regional Sales Manager performs this function through frequent in-person, phone, and video conferencing interaction with customers and potential customers.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrates company values and shares the organizational commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and a high-performance workforce through positive employee relations.
· Obtains quote opportunities for all product offerings and closes orders to achieve established goals; performance against targets will be measured and communicated on at least a monthly basis.
· Negotiates agreements with customers within company guidelines, and as agreed upon with company management, to meet sales and margin goals and objectives.
· Serves as the main contact point for all customer communication, managing the overall relationship and further develops positive business relations with decision makers at various levels of the customer organization.
· Provides process troubleshooting and direct customer service using existing extrusion and injection molding process knowledge; performs dimensional field surveys to ensure proper fit of our products and works cooperatively with customer service support team to provide clear, concise, and accurate information needed to quote and process orders.
· Establishes sales goals in line with overall company goals and provides formal performance reviews on at least a quarterly basis or more frequently, if appropriate to implement corrective measures and ensure goals are achieved.
· Provides product and relevant policy training to independent sales agents to ensure agents represent the company’s best interest in an effective manner.
· Maintains corporate sales input forecast levels, travel, and sales budgets.
· Develop relationships and delivers levels of service to grow sales volume and pricing.
· Participates with internal teams when necessary to provide resolution to customer issues including timing, quality, credit, etc.
· Actively investigates and reports on new product potential.
· Collects and reports information regarding the activity of competitors.
· Completes all required sales reports within established timeframe.
· Collaborates with the internal teams by sharing information about customers and programs.
· Follows all relevant policies and procedures in an ethical and consistent manner to protect the best interest of the company and our customers.
· Travels 60 - 70% to existing and prospective customers in designated territory to qualify needs, make appropriate sales presentations, and develop relationships throughout the customer organization.
· Attends various training courses, trade shows and sales meetings as appropriate.
· May be required to train other personnel as applicable.
General Responsibilities:
· Performs other responsibilities as assigned and/or as needed to support company objectives.
· Meets on-site and other attendance requirements to effectively build positive relationships and interact with all employees.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Work Experience Required:
· A minimum of 5 years sales experience selling or servicing auxiliary equipment and/or OEM capital equipment to both extrusion and/or injection molding companies within a designated territory (preferred) or 5 years in a maintenance, engineering or process related role in an injection molding or extrusion facility.
Education and Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree (or regional equivalent) in mechanical engineering, plastics processing engineering or plastics technology required, or equivalent experience as noted above.
· Have existing relationships with the key customers located in the territory.
· Moderate to high degree of proficiency in ERP, CRM, and Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
· Ability to exercise independent judgement and decision-making.
· Critical thinking skills to solve issues and foresee possible outcomes and consequences.
· Ability to objectively balance priorities to achieve desired outcomes when working cross-functionally.
· Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain diverse customer and business relationships on a global scale and work effectively within a team.
· Business oriented, with the ability to understand metrics related to sales and profit margins.
· Reliable, energetic, resilient, and positive, maintaining a proactive bias for action and sense of urgency to achieve results.
· Solid communication skills, written correspondence and presentation skills, and effective verbal communication in a diverse environment with ability to work effectively in varying cultures.
Proven ability to provide leadership and management for projects or to employees sharing a common goal.
· Ability to work effectively as an individual contributor with limited day-to-day oversight.
· Ability to fluently speak, write and understand English. Other languages may be required as defined by assigned territories.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to perform the following physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation:
· Ability to sit and perform repetitive motions to utilize a computer and other office equipment (keyboarding) for approximately 8 hours per day.
· Ability to stand, walk, and move around an office and industrial environment for approximately 8 hours a day.
· Ability to lift 50 pounds on an infrequent basis.
· Ability to hear and speak effectively to communicate with employees, customers, and agencies, etc.
· Ability to perform activities related to travel (for example: driving, flying on airplanes, moving throughout airports) on an infrequent basis, both domestically and internationally (approximately 60-70%).
