Job Description – Chartered Accountant (Direct Tax)
Role Overview
We are looking for a qualified Chartered Accountant with 2–4 years of hands-on
experience in Direct Tax — spanning compliance, litigation, advisory, and
international tax. The ideal candidate is technically sound, client-facing,
and capable of working independently on complex tax matters.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance
-
Prepare and review computation of income and corporate tax returns for
domestic and international clients

Ensure adherence to statutory timelines for all direct tax compliances
Litigation
-
Draft and file submissions for assessments, re-assessments, rectifications,
stay applications, demand recovery, penalty proceedings, and withholding tax
proceedings
-
Assistance in appellate matters before CIT(A) and preparation of ITAT
appeals
-
Assistance in co-ordination with clients and departmental authorities on
litigation matters
Advisory
-
Analyse and advise on tax implications of complex domestic and international
transactions, business restructuring, tax benefits, and treaty
interpretations

Prepare well-researched memos and presentations for client advisory
assignments

Stay updated with latest case laws, CBDT circulars/notifications, and
evolving tax positions
International Tax
-
Determine taxability and withholding obligations for foreign remittances

Preparation / Review of Form 145 and Form 146 (earlier Form 15CA/15CB)

Assistance in 201 proceedings

Advise on DTAA applicability, beneficial treaty positions, and cross-border
structuring
Team & Development

Mentor and coach junior team members on technical concepts

Contribute to knowledge management through research and internal training
sessions
Candidate Profile
-
Qualified CA with 2-4 years of post-qualification experience in Direct Tax

Prior experience in a CA firm or tax consulting environment preferred

Strong drafting, analytical, and client communication skills
-
Proficiency in tax research tools and working knowledge of tax software
