ROLE PURPOSE
Manage the day-to-day Finance, Accounting, Taxation and Compliance operations of the Group companies,
present and future, based out of Dubai and Hong Kong, leading a team of 3–4 accountants.Transaction processing
sits with the accountants. This role directs, reviews and signs off their work, and is accountable for the quality and
timeliness of everything that reaches the Head.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Team leadership & operations
● Lead the team of 3–4 accountants; allocate work, set deadlines and review output.
● Maintain daily, weekly and month-end task calendars with clear ownership.
● Coach and develop the team, and build a trained backup for each key process.
● Act as first point of escalation for the team and the business on finance matters.
Accounting & reporting
● Ensure books of accounts for all Dubai and Hong Kong entities are maintained accurately and in
compliance with statutory requirements and applicable accounting standards.
● Run monthly, quarterly and annual financial closures to agreed timelines.
● Prepare MIS, management reports and variance analysis for stakeholder review.
● Prepare statutory financial statements and supporting audit schedules.
● Own inter-company accounting, reconciliations, confirmations and settlements, with differences resolved
before close.
● Coordinate with overseas finance teams on group reporting timelines and accounting discipline.
Treasury & banking
● Prepare daily cash positions and rolling short-term liquidity forecasts across entities.
● Execute fund movements in line with approved SOPs, maintaining the approval trail and tracking.
● Track and report inter-company funding positions and settlement status.
● Manage banking operations, including payments, KYC renewals, facility and limit monitoring, and
progressively take over as primary point of contact for banks.
Compliance & audits
● Prepare and file UAE VAT and Corporate Tax returns and Hong Kong Profits Tax returns; maintain the
compliance calendar for all entities.
● Coordinate with tax advisors and auditors, and maintain supporting documentation, including transfer
pricing documentation for inter-company transactions.
● Manage internal and external audit fieldwork and drive closure of audit observations.
● Ensure adherence to applicable financial laws and regulations.
Controls, systems & supply chain
● Operate and strengthen financial controls, SOPs and approval matrices, including segregation of duties
within the team.
● Review supply chain transactions (purchase orders, goods receipts, landed costs, inventory and vendor
reconciliations) and escalate exceptions.
● Act as lead finance user of SAP (HANA); drive master data hygiene and process improvements with the
SAP support team.
PROFILE & SKILLS
● Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA).
● Experience: 3–5 years of post-qualification experience in Finance, Accounts and Compliance, including at
least 1–2 years supervising a team of accountants.
● Closing & reporting: hands-on experience of month-end closure, inter-company accounting and multi-
entity reporting.
● Statutory & audit: has prepared statutory financial statements and handled audits end-to-end; audit firm
background preferred.
