QA/QC Chemist

We are looking to hire qualified and experienced QA/QC Chemists / Microbiologists for our CSD Beverage and Packaged Drinking Water Manufacturing Plant . We request you to share suitable profiles matching the details below.

• Department: Quality Assurance / Quality Control
• Reporting To: QA/QC Manager / Plant Head
• Number of Positions: 3
• Preferred Industry Background: Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Parle Agro plants

Job Description – Roles & Responsibilities

1. Quality Control & Testing

• Conduct physico-chemical analysis of raw water, treated water, syrup, finished products, and carbonated beverages as per ISO 22000:2018 and internal specifications
• Perform microbiological analysis including:
  • Total Plate Count (TPC)
  • Yeast & Mold
  • Coliforms / E. coli
  • Pathogen testing as required
• Ensure compliance with ISO 22000:2018 standards for Packaged Drinking Water and CSD

2. Process Monitoring

• Monitor critical control points in:
  • Water Treatment Plant (RO, UV, Ozonation, Syrup Plant)
  • Syrup preparation and beverage blending
• Verify CO₂ quality and carbonation levels
• Ensure hygiene and sanitation practices are followed on the shop floor

3. Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain QC records, test reports, calibration logs, and batch release documentation
• Support internal audits, inspections, and ISO 22000 / HACCP audits
• Ensure compliance with GMP, GLP, and food safety standards

4. Corrective & Preventive Actions

• Investigate quality deviations, non-conformities, and customer complaints
• Implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
• Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to resolve quality issues

5. Laboratory Management

• Maintain laboratory equipment, chemicals, and reagents
• Ensure calibration and validation of lab instruments
• Follow laboratory safety protocols and waste disposal guidelines

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Chemist: B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Chemistry (Analytical / Industrial / Applied Chemistry preferred)
• Microbiologist: B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Microbiology / Biotechnology / Life Sciences

Experience

• 10-12 years of experience in:
  • Packaged Drinking Water Plants
  • Carbonated Soft Drinks / Beverage Industry
  • Food & Beverage Manufacturing

Technical Skills & Knowledge

• Knowledge of water treatment processes (RO, UV, Ozone)
• Familiarity with BIS, FSSAI, HACCP, ISO 22000 standards
• Hands-on experience in chemical and microbiological testing
• Ability to interpret test results and prepare reports
