Job Title: Finance Manager
Location: Beira, Mozambique

Reports To: Senior Management
Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly experienced Chartered Accountant to join our team as a
Finance Manager in Beira, Mozambique. The candidate will be responsible for managing
end-to-end financial operations, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and
maintaining strong financial controls. Candidates must have prior working experience in
Africa, with a strong understanding of regional financial, tax, and regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Operations Management
• Oversee daily financial operations and coordinate with the back-office team.
• Ensure smooth execution of accounting processes and reporting activities.
2. Banking & Treasury Management
• Manage banking activities including payments, collections, and reconciliations.
• Monitor cash flow and maintain banking relationships.
3. Statutory Compliance & Taxation
• Ensure accurate and timely filing of IVA (VAT) returns as per Mozambique
regulations.
• Manage INSS (social security) and IRPS (income tax) filings.
• Ensure full compliance with local tax laws and statutory requirements.

4. Financial Reporting & Internal Controls
• Prepare and review financial statements in line with applicable standards.
• Establish and maintain strong internal financial controls.
• Ensure audit readiness and proper documentation.
5. Risk Management
• Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Provide financial insights to support management decisions.
6. Technical Accounting
• Research and resolve complex accounting issues.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and best practices.
7. Quality Assurance
• Maintain high accuracy in financial transactions and reporting.
• Conduct regular checks and reconciliations.
Education & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field – Mandatory
• MBA or Advanced Degree in Finance/Accounting – Preferred
• Professional certifications (CA / ACCA / CPA) – Preferred
Experience Requirements:
• Minimum 5–10 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting
• Mandatory: Prior working experience in Africa
• Strong experience in financial reporting, taxation, and compliance
• Experience in Mozambique or similar regulatory environments is highly preferred
Skills & Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting

• Expertise in general ledger and financial statement preparation
• Good understanding of African tax systems and compliance frameworks
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in ERP systems and financial tools
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities
